Canadian oil

For those that think the Republicans are the fat cats of politics, please read this........(Eye opener)
Hmm... this is 'interesting'. Kind of adds a little 'dimension' to the topic--
like "the Rest of the Story". Kind of tarnishes the 'environmental' platform!

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad owns all of the rail lines in the US connecting to western Canada and they haul 80%+ of the crude from Canada to the midwest and Texas or charge other Short Line railroads a fee to use their tracks.
BNSF charges $30 per barrel to haul the oil where the Keystone would cost $10 by the State Departments own estimates. BNSF is owned by Berkshire Hathaway whose chairman is Warren Buffet.
In the last election cycles Buffet gave extensively to democrat causes and candidates including $40K+ to Obama in 2012. He also bundled and hosted numerous fundraisers for Obama. If anyone here believes the pipeline isn't being blocked by Obama on Buffet’s behalf you're nuts.
Buffet could stand to lose $2B+ a year if the pipeline goes in and he makes the same amount every year it's delayed. This is crony capitalism at its finest and what is making people mad at our government and capitalist system.

Remember when Buffet said that his secretary paid more taxes than he. It now appears that he was plugging for Obuma. Cronyism at it's best.

It is also why the only drilling permits are being given up in the Bakken (N Dakota). It also explains why the EPA has no problem with these companies flaring off Natural Gas into the atmosphere that took millions of years to be created because it is in the way of getting to the oil and Nat gas cant be transported above ground due to the low temps it needs to be kept in liquid form.
Obama and his bull crap about the environment and green energy. What a load of crap. How can people be so stupid?

Patty, Flaring has been done as long as oil has been drilled. Someone has always complained about that tremendous lose of energy and yet I have never heard of a practical idea to reclaim or save it. It is not by any means a new problem, but it would seem that with the energy crunch, some new workable ideas would be tossed about. Do you know of anything along this line?

Horrable lose to burn off all that fuel for all these decades.

Not true all the Dems do is compare the failures of Bush and the Dems wonder where the outrage was when he was in office. 12 Embassies bombed a war with false intel collapse of the housing industry collapse of the banking industry unemployment at 11% and not one hearing where was your outrage. Benghazi 4 different committees. 15 million $ and still nothing so the GOP could not find anything so let's have another committee to investigate the other 4. But let's not give the democrats on the committee any power to call a witness only the chairman can call a witness wow talk about getting to the truth. I wonder hummmmmmm what is the difference between Obama and Bush. What can it be I just can't figure it out. But when I do I will get back to you.

Then I don't have to wait. You will never "figure it out". You have been properly indoctrinated in "Bush bad, Obama good." Bush has bad breath; Obama has sweet breath and doesn't even perspire.
