Hah! We COS-types helped get this country where it is. Even though some of us wised-up, it was the MSM and so-called "professional educators" from our generation that indoctrinated the mush-brains who voted-in these anti-American frauds...

V. excellent. Legislators routinely display those little pocket-sized Constitutions to prove their fidelities while promoting some anti-Comstitutional agenda. Nobody references the Federalist Papers and the so-called reporters never call them on it. Our "Constitutional-scholar" President has never mentioned it..

That's because hes a dumb ass...

cesspool,
You do know that sedition is against the law, right? Can you say NSA? You and the rest of your BBA brethren just keep talking your smack. I have no doubt you're already on the NSA's and the FBI's radar. Too bad you can't take all of your hate and yourselves to Afghanistan and Iraq. You and your boys could give the Taliban and Al Qaida fits, for about 10 minutes - tops.

PS, I'm not a conservative and I'm not a lib. I'm just an American veteran that loves his country, warts and all. And, I really don't want you trying to puck it up just because you don't like the president. There's a lot I don't like that's going on, but I'd never threaten to go after the president.

Eric;
I am 15 yrs. your junior yet it is fair to say I understand and appreciate your reasoning, (over looking your couple of burps) and that's because government class, to include the Constitution, was still part of our established curriculum during my school years. Do you remember? "you will pass government or else". This is not true today, (even in catholic school where I was raised) due to the DOE deciding that it was too much of a task for the poor immigrant children who could not grasp it. Intentional or not the result has been the "dumbing down" of our citizenry to a rather obvious level of national ignorance. And this is where you and I should both give thanks to your respondent L.E. Liesner, ignorance breeds laziness breeds loss of civil rights. I thank you all, tonight was a good read. NOW, let us go and vote ourselves back into our rightful position(s).

Well, Eric Williams, you over looked one major thing in your superficial overview: "Faith".
Our Founding Fathers were all of one denomination of Christianity or another. Mainly Presbyterian. Presbter means 'elder' in the Presbyterian Church, and means Priest or Minister in the Episcopal Church. They all believed in the One Lord Jesus Christ, but didn't want him ripped apart in eventual future Government, so left him out to be believed in in the Heart and Soul, and on the lips of the American Citizens in Freedom, still in line with the covenanted May Flower Compact.
Thomas Jefferson wrote a book called: "The Jefferson Bible" where he expounds on the Morales of the Man Jesus Christ, then took all four Gospels and aligned them together in One Timeline of events. Lined up perfect. I have his Book, and am of direct ancestry to Thomas Jefferson.

I have two simple verses for you:

8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
9 Great men are not always wise: *neither do the aged understand judgment.* Job 32.

Correction. Our Founding Fathers were Deists, otherwise known as Freemasons who believe in a god but are not members of any particular religion. With a little research you may learn that most of those in public life and in the arts (painters, sculptors, composers) were also Deists. Religious paintings and sculptures were often not initiated by these artists but they accepted commissions to produce the artwork. The churches and patrons of the arts often supported the artists through commissions.

True, but the Constitution says nothing about term limits for Congress. Therefore each State can, if it wants, set term limits for their congress electees.
The issue, then, is any State that does such a thing is putting itself at a disadvantage by having no "senior" elected Congress people to chair the various and sundry committees. Few states would even think of doing that.

The Supreme Court ruled states cannot make stricter requirements than those set forth in the Constitution for election to Federal offices.

I see you're right the USA Supreme Court Ruled Against States' Setting Additional Standards for USA Congressional Elections...

But I think the Supreme Court's Decision Violated the 10th Amendment of the Constitution:

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

The Constitution DOESN'T SET ANY TERM LIMIT REQUIREMENTS & Without Term Limit Requirements Listed, States Should have the Right to set Term Limits on Their Own Representatives...

And there's Constitutional Precedence... The 22nd Amendment Set Term Limits for the President & Vice-President Offices... This Shows That Without an Amendment to the Constitution, the Term Limit Issue is NOT CONSTITUTIONALLY ADDRESSED & the 10th Amendment Should Apply, giving the States the Right to Set Their Own States' Representatives Term Limits...

The Founders already set term limits, the term for a Representative is two years, the President's term is four years, and a Senator is six years. You are not required to re-elect them every time their term expires. If you are unhappy with your elected officials, vote them out of office. You do not need a Constitutional Amendment to do that. A lot less apathy and voter laziness, and a lot more knowledge of your elected officials attention to his/hers duty to the country is what is needed today.

I am Eric Williams, The Radical In The Twilight Zone, where truth is abhorred!

You make good points Eric, but perhaps you overlooked the biggest one. I believe your concern here is regarding freedom, and the keeping of freedom. The only real freedom among humans is when things are in a state of anarchy and no government at all prevails.

This happens periodically, with the result, always, that wanna-be kings start taking over small populations and increasing their domain and their power. Eventually a government comes out of the chaos. But given enough time, and as the result of dissatisfaction or some plague or epidemic or natural disaster, we are always plunged back into chaos, anarchy and individual freedom once again.

So, based on Your Thinking, We should Repeal the 22nd Amendment... That's the one Restricting Presidents & Vice-Presidents from holding their Office for more than 2 full terms...

JimMe: I'm a strong believer that most people take the path of least resistance...just like normal animals. Pop Culture has induced such tremendous apathy into our society that we need stop gaps to protect us from ourselves. Knowing that; we as an electorate need to place stronger limits on our Congress just like the Presidency! Senators two terms max! Congressman three terms max; as a strong example. The biggest thing Americans need to do is actually pay their revenue service checks every month....that will solve the apathy in the electorate concerning politics real quick!!!! The Tort is now out of control and has become political....The Supreme Court and those positions below them should now become elected post with term limits as well! Typical Five/Four rulings....Constructive vs Activist is getting old...its simply politics and not Rule of Law!!
