I was trying to show why the electoral college is important. If you tout Hillary's advantage in the popular vote, you should know that it wasn't a widespread, across the board support. If we take her overall 3million popular vote advantage, you can see it came in just a couple of locations. If you don't count her 4.3million lead in California and her 2million lead in New York, you can see she didn't have much support in the rest of the country. Without those two states, she lost the other 48 states by 3.3million votes. She did not have the support of the country, just a tiny, albeit highly populous, portion of the country. If she were more likable and actually campaigned in the whole country, maybe she would have won. Trump may come across as abrasive and a bit of an assault, but his negatives were not as severe as hers and he actually campaigned all across the country. Even with Trump receiving well over 90% negative coverage from the media, it is not a shoe in for the Democrats because of all of Biden's negatives and his apparent mental decline.

The electoral college should be abolished.
It’s corrupt and only has presence when Republicans need to win an election as in a time to appoint supreme justices.
All the elections Dems have won have won by popular vote and also by electoral votes.
RepubliPIGs on the other hand have never won an election with both EC and popular votes.
So, there’s that.

Another point maybe overlooked, I believe the electors are assigned by the governors of each state.
So, then if the republicans have majorities in key states and assign RepubliPIG electors then, trump could possibly win again by RepubliPIG majorities states assigning RepubliPIGs for electors.
Popular vote ? who cares.

The electors are bound by the vote of their state. If California had a Republican governor and even a Republican controlled legislature, all of their electoral votes would have still gone to Hillary in 2016 because she won the vote in that state. If we go to a straight nationwide popular vote, New York and California would determine who would be President every time, meaning the rest of the country would be reduced from citizens to subjects. Would you feel the same way if New York and California were as strongly conservative as they currently are liberal? Would you support this if it were conservative areas that could overpower the liberal will of the rest of the country? Without the electoral college, we would not have had a Civil War because we would not have had a Union to preserve. We would be a number of small nations, not the superpower we are today. Hitler would probably have conquered Europe and Japan would have taken the Pacific. Who knows how many states we would have. The may have had small wars amongst themselves, the losers being absorbed by the winner. Slavery might still exist. Without the electoral college, the Constitution would never have been ratified.
Milosia2, have you ever read the essays known as the Federalist Papers? If not, I would suggest reading them to understand the times and why the various elements of the Constitution were included. If you have, I recommend rereading them to refresh your memory and appreciate how truly unique a document the Constitution really is.

We who have some inkling of what is going on will agree with your write-up. But I feel you are wasting your time trying to convince some of anything but Commie propaganda. What a shame !!

What do the Federalist Papers say about representing the Majority of the population?
Who picks the Electors? Is it truly a behind the curtain mystery?
Are the Electors also from gerrymandered situations involving Republican influence in also republicans states?
And what does it say about RepubliPIGs lying , cheating and stealing in order to win elections?

Gerrymandering actually has been done by both parties. It only becomes a problem when the other side takes control and redraws the lines. The term gerrymandering comes from a Democrat Massachusetts governor named Elbridge Gerry. Each state has its own rules as to how the electors are selected. The electors are bound by law to vote for the candidate who won their state. The Supreme Court ruled on this just recently. As far as representing the majority, the states are the ones who choose the President. The states electoral votes are determined by their Congressional representation. All states are equal in the Senate with each state having two Senators, so all states start with two electoral votes. Again, this is to make all states equal. To account for the population differences each state also has additional electoral votes equal to their representation in the House of Representatives. The most populous state, California has 53 Representatives which equals 53 more electoral votes. Alaska has only one Representative, so that means only one additional electoral votes.
It's way past my bedtime. If you are really interested in the foundation of our governmental system, I urge you to read the Federalist Papers. You may have a greater appreciation of where conservatives come from even if you don't always agree.

What do you think about term limits?

All members of the House and Senate should be limited to 2 terms.

If you are in the house, and want to run for the senate or president, you must first vacate your current position. Same goes for people in the senate.

No more retirement or insider trading.

These are my suggestions, feel free to add to the list.

A few other suggestions —— After two terms in the House, the person could run for a term in the Senate but would be required to vacate their seat in the house and not be able to return to their former seat in the House if they lost their bid for the Senate. — A second suggestion would be that after being term limited in the House or the Senate, there would be a strict prohibition on the term limited person that they could not hold a job for the succeeding 5 years as a lobbyist or “consultant” for ANY American or foreign business, corporation, charity or company. — A third suggestion. I would allow a term limited person a one time, small lump sum retirement payment of $50,000. If a Representative or a Senator leaves their seat in either legislative body for any reason prior to the end of their first term, the one time, lump sum $50,000 retirement payment would be forfeited back to budgeted money account from which the payment would have normally been made.
