Lol...

Betray their fellow man???

by engaging in what their nation had engaged in from the beginning???

Love how the winning side is always righteous and the lisers are always traitorous scum...

Remember when the colonies turned traitor on England?

Turns my stomach

For all of you, here is the correct flag of the Confederate States of America.

No they actually had several versions of the flag, your version was the first in 1861, in 1863 it changed to this, and changed again in 1865 to the second pic.

There can't be pride in both? We can walk and chew gum at the same time. I was combat Marine for close to 50 years, I didn't much think of south or north. Simply America. The southern pride is more a personal thing.

The real question that you failed to get here is just what is southern pride and how does the CSA flag fit into that southern pride today. If southern pride is equal in some instances to white supremacy, then its a pride this country does not want nor need.

So you have stated several times that you were a combat marine for 50 years, I'm wondering just how the hell you pulled that off. The mandatory retirement age for military positions was 55 up until a few years ago when it was changed to 62. So you must have joined when you were between 5 and 10 years old to get 50 years in the service?

Funny, I was asking elders on our reservation if they were safe from antifa. Their answer "Let the children play." We've been around for so long by not indulging in every fight there is. We're hardly pushovers, look at Tecumseh.

I have no idea how any of your response relates to my post? Why would elders on any reservation be worried about antifa? Why would anyone that isn't a fascist be worried about them? The guys in Charlottsville chanting "jews will not replace us" should be much more worrisome to all in this country than antifa.

Ok? No, but antifa does it. They've gone to every town around me. Maybe they remember I emptied their cell by myself.

I seriously doubt Antifa has been anywhere near you, you really have nothing to fear from them, unless you are a fascist and have been participating in rally's where you shout "Jews will not replace us" or other similarly wonderful chants.

There were several battle flags. The Confederate flag was simple. But really, we need to let the battle flags in the hands of private citizens to display as they please. The originals are in the Smithsonian and that is good enough.

Let's rally behind this flag!!!

By the way, Antifa would never use Nazi symbols, it is totally what they are against. The only groups that use that are the same ones that also use the Confederate flag, and they are all far-right wing organizations and far from the far left group that is Antifa. So if you have been seeing those symbols in every town around you, you must live in the middle of a white nationalist hot zone. In that case yes your elders on your reservation should be very concerned. And if you indeed "emptied the cell all by yourself", you did the country a big favor getting rid of those white supremacists and the country should thank you for it.

You are leaving out important facts. First the flag that upsets you was a battle flag. The Confederate flag was not even close.

Second, those early slaves were indentured slaves. The import of complete ownership came later. Also, those early slaves actually fought with the Brits against the Patriots.

Most slave owners did not own cotton plantations and after the invention of the cotton gin, blacks were seldom used. However, they were used on sugar and rice plantations. Blacks were used for one reason, rice and sugar was grown in some areas of Africa and there was evidence that slaves taken from the Gold Coast by Islamic, Portuguese, and Dutch traders were familiar with the methods of cultivation practiced in their native country.

It is a myth that all white settlers owned slaves and farms could not exist without their labor. In fact, the first documented slave owner was a black. Another issue with the newly taught history they conveniently leave out facts, such as less than 5 percent of whites in the south owned black slaves. Did you know, prior to 1654, all Africans in the thirteen colonies were held in indentured servitude and were released after a contracted period with many of the indentured receiving land and equipment after their contracts for work expired? Probably not.

The first official slave owner in America was an Angolan who adopted the European name of Anthony Johnson. He was sold to slave traders in 1621 by an enemy tribe in his native Africa, and was registered as "Antonio, a Negro" in the official records of the Colony of Virginia. He went to work for a white farmer as an indentured servant. By July 1651 Johnson had five indentured servants of his own. In 1664, he brought a case before Virginia courts in which he contested a suit launched by one of his indentured servants, a Negro who adopted the name of John Casor. Johnson won the suit and retained Casor as his servant for life, who thus became the first official and true slave in America.

LOL simple sam you are way off base here. The cotton gin was a machine that separated the cotton fibers from the cotton seeds. It did not plant, grow and harvest cotton crops. In fact, while it was true that the cotton gin reduced the labor of removing seeds, it did not reduce the need for slaves to grow and pick the cotton. In fact, the opposite occurred. Cotton growing became so profitable for the planters that it greatly increased their demand for both land and slave labor.

Not so fast! According to the Hate Map, there are currently 917 hate groups in operation in the U.S. Leading the pack is The Nation of Islam. By far the largest group of haters and ANTIFA is part of that group.

If you ask me, all of them are idiots hell bent on ruining the USA.

I'll give you a hint Pete. Yes an agrarian economy. Now, what if you couldn't sell what you grew?

That's all part of the tentacles of an economy based on slavery. Grab someone by the balls and squeeze if you want changes to be made--else, with a conservative ideology dominant no attempt to change would ever be made...

I really don't care if individuals want to fly the confederate flag on their private property as that is their right. Its a bit different in the public specter though.

If the mongrels can fly their BLM flags in public, I can fly a NON-racist Confederate flag in public.
