https://www.onepoliticalplaza.com/t-185315-1.htmlI was not sure where I should post this...This morning I asked Admin to change the name of Penny's log on, I wanted to preserve her writings, but I needed to get a message out to anyone who knew her. I did not want to become a member, so I am hijacking her account for today.
Momma went for a late run last night and was hit by a car about 4 miles from her farm. She is died on the scene. I have no other details.

That is horrible news. She had a lot of friends here, and will be terribly missed. Please pray that she is in a better place.

I am deeply saddened to hear this tragic news. I always liked Penny's postings. She was a smart cookie and always reasonable with others, even when attacked. Her voice of reason and expertise in many subjects will be truly missed. She was a class act.
Did the driver of the car stay on the scene for the investigating authorities? If you have any other information to share later I am anxious to hear it, if or when it becomes available.
Rose, Thank you for sharing this sad news with us. All lives matter because life is precious.
My condolences to her surviving family members and friends and may God bless her and her family.

I have no words. My deepest sympathy.
PennyLynn, originally known as 'GinnyT' on this forum, was one of the earliest and most welcoming posters with whom to exchange thoughts upon my entry to OPP. Over the years, she remained one of its most capable and articulate contributors. More importantly, as a rule, she was generally consistent with her respectfulness, courtesy, and civility towards others. However, eventually we did find ourselves occasionally in conflict over various matters, even to the point of some contentiousness. Nevertheless, we always maintained each others utmost respect as to their value on the OPP forum. I shall greatly miss her.
A note: Recently, at 50,000 posts, I decided to take a well-deserved break from the chaos this forum often brings. As of now, I don't know when or if I will return. Yet, as I drop in often and check the comments, I say thanks to all those who would seem to welcome my return. That may yet happen. Time will tell.
In closing, I consider many, if not most OPPers to be my friends. To those who may not view me so favorably, I like to think that maybe we just haven't gotten to know each well enough. That thought brings to mind a quote from Abe Lincoln: "I don't like that man. I must get to know him better!"

Well said, Slatten. She was a rarity in the contentious climate that permeates our society and culture.

Hopefully you will visit on and off. Your warped sense of humor and often odd way of looking at things has been a bright spot on OPP, even if I don't always agree with your point of view, your presentations are worth reading
