"A mail carrier who allegedly altered a small number of applications for absentee ballots in Pendleton County has been charged with a federal crime, according to a news release from the West Virginia Attorney General’s Office.

Thomas Cooper, 47, admitted to investigators he changed the party affiliation of the applicant from Democrat to Republican on ballot applications from one family, according to the affidavit..."

This happens all the time Mike. Mail carriers are the worst for altering mail-in ballots. They take them home and steam them open where they white-out the name and fill in the new names with foreknowledge of the election precinct and how the signatures should be signed. They then seal them back up and off to be counted they go.

Now here's some more food for thought: given that the majority of mail carriers are ex-military and the military is largely conservative what is the probability that those altered mail-in ballots are for Republican candidates and not Democrats--AS HAPPENED HERE? Afterall the last large scale altering of ballots was by Republicans and not Democrats so you guys are as, or are more likely to cheat, than are we Democrats. And since cheaters usually do something stupid to get caught just why is this a topic for conversation? If someone cheats they likely will be caught and the validity of the election will be upheld. So either, 'Republicans are cheaters' or 'cheaters never prosper' seems a better topic of conversation than what we have here.

Election fraud is a red herring used by con's to give them an out and a reason to challenge in case they lose. Remember what Trump was saying in the last election...that election fraud was rampant, where of course you loyal puppies wagged your little tails and agreed 110%. But gee, he managed to get elected anyway and in spite of a waste of investigative dollars, he couldn't find the massive fraud that he had convinced you loyal puppies existed. So what now, well you wait for the next election and start the fallacy all over again.

Trump knows that the more people who vote the less chance he has to win. So since it's Democrats who are taking the virus seriously and largely remained sheltered in place it's to his advantage to keep them home and away from the polls by any means possible. By taking away mail-in ballots Trump may keep a large enough percentage away from the polls that he has a can win. That's the reason for his rhetoric and the reason he's pushing this fallacy by any means he can...

Also along the same line the general belief being forwarded is that mail in ballots are ripe for fraud. So since Mike Garcia 25th district in California won by mail in ballots then should he be considered unofficially in office.

Nope , just saying that if there is cheating both are apt to . Just like the 25th district Garcia is a Rep and if you look at the mix California as of 2019 it was higher on the Dem side. Gracia must have had some good common sense to get the majority to vote for him, or indeed there was some cheating going on.
