Wasn't it Lenin who said,"a lie told often enough becomes the truth"?

I don't know if Lenin said it, but it was said by the publisher of the Shinbone newspaper in the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. He said when the legend is bigger than the truth, print the legend. He then threw the reporters notes of the true story into the stove.

Someone else said pretty much the same thing.....his name was Hitler.

Actually, it was Hitler's 'publicist', Joseph Goebels. This is a cornerstone of advertising and publicity agents.

Orion169. Did Lenin say that or was it NYT, WP, CNN, CNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, Time, Pelosi, Schiff, Cuomo, AOC, Waters to name a few.
Lenin has been dead for some 90 years. The above practice that quote daily since 2016 at least.

Much of what you post, I have no problem; you are entitled to your opinions, right or wrong. What I encourage you to do is support your opinions with facts and sources. Opinions aren't worth squat without support. I will comment on just two of your points.

Criticisms of Trump's response to the crisis are way overblown. I'm sorry to see you join the tomato throwing. Trump was dealing with the crisis since January, while Democrats wasted January and February distracted with their treasonous impeachment coup. They called Trump a RACIST for stopping travel from China in January. And they were angry that Trump would no let sick vacationers exit a cruise ship in California without quarantine and thorough testing. They and Pelosi were STILL calling Trump a RACIST on January 24 when Pelosi paraded through Chinatown on video claiming that is was safe to go there, come on out. They should have been joining Trump in social distancing, not parading through Chinatown. Democrats didn't figure out the seriousness of the problem till March. But now they have the nerve to blame Trump for inaction in January and February.

Second, a point about immigrants. This country was built on immigration. We welcome immigrants. But do not confuse legal and illegal immigration. We have immigration laws. We welcome all who come here LEGALLY. My ancestors came here in 1730 and 1856. And millions more came here LEGALLY. We are the great "melting pot". But we have laws; let's not ignore the laws with which we disagree.

Tiptoe, you can be and Republican, Democrat, or an Independent -- I don't care. Just don't be stupid.

Don, first, I'm aware of the reply buttons. Second, I'm not "throwing tomatoes". There's are things trump has said. I'll agree that the impeachment was on his mind in January, bit he still had a country to run, stroll got daily briefings. As far a immigration, most arrive by plane & over stay their visas. Building a wall only results in taller ladders or deeper tunnels. A wall is across the border is futile & a waste of money. The majority come here & work for low wages in back breaking jobs anyway. We welcome those who come here legally. Not if you're from certain countries. Trump is ceo of the country, not Congress. It's his job to direct the actions of the different federal agencies that could have better controlled the pandemic. Besides, the repubs control the Senate. I always see Pelosi criticized, what about McConnell? Calling trump a racist, or any other name has never stopped him from doing anything. Thanks for your civil post.

So you admit Trump reacted to briefings. Have you seen the briefing/statements coming from China, W.H.O., and Fauci in January? if you weren't a complete troll you'd admit he was getting mixed signals. I guarantee when he announced the travel ban from China you were one of the snowflakes accusing him of being a Xenophobe. Even though the men and women who actually work border patrol and the heads of Homeland security have stated a Wall would greatly reduce border crossings, you with all your experience say it's a waste of money. If you compare our mortality rate to other countries, a country as large and diverse as the U.S. our reaction to controlling this so called pandemic has been exemplary. Governors and heads of localities should have a better understanding of their situation than anyone in D.C., including Trump. Trump doesn't direct the CDC, in a case like this he takes their advice and conclusions, which has changed often. Were you around in 1969? We had a rather nasty flu that killed over 100,000 Americans and the population of the U.S. was around 202.7 million. No lockdowns, no strangled economy, no panic, and no school shut downs. Looking at statistics with no political bias would you say the reaction to this so called pandemic is overblown or not?

Correct,
Joseph Goebbels: On the “Big Lie”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

How many names have I called him? Only liar (because he lies), and con (Trump University, his various business deals in Atlantic City). There's probably a lot more that others might think, but they are true.
