Why would we be depressed over something so trivial? The sailor in question was already in the navy and was granted a waiver to continue serving. It ain't like our military is aggressively recruiting oddballs and perverts.

Yeah, there have always been gays in the military. Never bothered me and as long as they kept it to themselves is was no problem. Maybe the military should do like in the past where they had entire Black Regiments or Japanese Divisions from internment camps? May an entirely gay or/and transgender unit. But that would be discrimination.

Nah, the navy didn't recruit me, I volunteered, couldn't wait to do something cool for my country. Loved every minute of my time in the navy, especially when I became an aircrewman and FLEW NAVY.
