Subways and ACEII receptors.
Yep, that is the secret to this virus. Can you figure it out and know that we need not shut down??

???? what?? u want to let us in on what u thinkin
ACE II receptors are membrane bound proteins which, when activated by a bound molecule, result in relaxing smooth muscle to lower
BP. They are dramatically increased in number in folks with elevated Bp and heart disease or other related lung disorders. The Covid virus gets into the cells via the ACE II protein. Those with elevated numbers of them get a big loading dose of the virus and have the worst reaction to the initial infection.
Add to that the stress filled NYC and the close proximity of being on the New York subway and bam, you have a great vector for the transmission of the bug/virus, and a huge population of those getting huge does of it sue to close proximity on the subway.
The two combined have given New York their worst nightmare. The rest of us are not as nearly as vulnerable

Angiotensin converting enzyme, converts angiotensin I to angiotensin II......................which does not explain why those not on angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors succumb to covid19. Much more research is needed, perhaps years more.

That's ACE I. When bound it works to raise Bp by various means. ACE II is a sort of safety valve and reduces Bp. The virus binds to it to enter the cells. ACE II is unregulated in people who have high bp and take common Bp meds. Unregulated means it's numbers in cell membranes is increased dramatically. This,in those individuals, there is a much greater number of virus partials getting into the cells, increasing lethality.

Up-regulated, not unregulated.
