I know that what's in fashion is the Coronavirus, which for me is an entertaiment maneuver in order to gain time, applying the method contained in the phrase attributed to Harry Truman: “If you can't convince them, confuse them”, with what is being brainwashed many people; but when this pandemic ends, not that one from disease but the brainwashing one, we will have to face reality and think again about what is being tried to impose.
I write this article for the benefit of those who in one way or another have issued comments in this forum favorable to socialism; so that if this regime is imposed, they make sure that they become “people to be respected”, because otherwise they will not have living conditions that would be at least bearable.
Needless to say, that the existence of a forum like OPP is impossible in a country dominated by real socialism, since in that system there is no freedom of expression; in the place where real socialism exists, those who are slightly opposed to the government of the country, end up in jail or before the firing squad, imagine what will happen to those who insult whoever presides over the government, in the way that some do in this forum with the President of USA.
I will make a brief exposition of some things related to legality in a socialist system, taking as an example the existing one in Cuba, that is a real socialism; and not the fairytale socialism that is mentioned as functioning in the Scandinavian countries; which is a false claim, because these countries have a free market system.
In Cuba, supporters of the government are those who belong to the Communist Party or to the mass organizations recognized by this Party (Communist Youth, Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, Federation of Cuban Women, etc.). Of course, those who are government officials, have an officer’s rank in the military or perform functions in repressive state agencies are “people to respect”.
If someone in Cuba goes to a police station to manage something and shows an identification as a supporter of the government, he will be called a "mate"; and if not, he will be called a "citizen"; the latter seems like a respect treatment, but in reality it is a subtle form of discrimination. The "mate" will be treated respectfully and the "citizen" will be treated as a second-class person, will not receive any attention, or will be mistreated.
In Cuba, if someone intends to exercise a right, that person must be very careful, because to exercise a right, it may be necessary to have the authorization of an official.
In any country where legality is respected, the principle that a person can do anything that the law does not prohibit is applicable. There, only what is authorized can be done. Furthermore, it should be noted that a person may be granted the right to do something in a given circumstance and another person in the same circumstance may be denied the same right; because not all citizens are equal before the law.
In that country the court ruling does not set any precedent. Such is the case of Commander Calixto García Martínez, who on 26 Avenue, Nuevo Vedado, in Havana, ran with his car over a young woman who died from her injuries and he was exonerated of charges; or the case of the Commander Universo Indibil Sánchez Álvarez, who shot to death a Lieutenant Colonel who was wrongly accusing him, with the same result. In the first case, a “citizen” would be sentenced to prison and in the second case, would be shot. Here it can be seen that in this system there are people who are above the law.
Merit is applied, and this is obtained with the political behavior of the person. Therefore, a government supporter can access a right that is denied to someone other that is not a government supporter. Take for example the motto: "The university is for revolutionaries", which denies the right to higher education to those who are not supporters of the government.
The Courts and the Assembly of Deputies are subject to the decisions of the Executive Power that is held by the Communist Party, there is no separation of powers. Thus the one who presides over the Party is a true dictator or tyrant, as Fidel Castro was at his time and now his brother Raúl is; or as it were in the Soviet Union and China, with Stalin and Mao, lords of the gallow and the knife with tens of millions of dead on their conscience, perpetrators of abuse and crimes of all kinds.
It is possible to imagine the daily abuses that all these “individuals to respect” commit in a socialist (communist) regime, where there is a political apartheid, which includes citizens of different categories, in contradiction with what Marx wrote about the elimination of social classes.
To learn a little more about what communism is and the abuses and crimes that are committed under this regime, it is convenient to read what those who lived it have written, such as Igor Gouzenko in his book “The Fall of a Titan” or Boris Pasternak in his book “Doctor Zhivago”. In the first, reading becomes painful and it is necessary to read it little by little, since one feel disgusted by the behavior of people who apparently do not belong to the human species. Pasternak's book is a vision of before and after the establishment of communist socialism.
Cuba is a magnificent example of what the imposition of communist socialism represents, comparable to a catastrophe that has destroyed the country politically, economically and socially. From a country that received immigrants, it became a country of emigrants, from a country that was in a respectable economic position in America and in the world, it has become a poor country, at the level of Honduras or Haiti and sometimes below these. However, that regime has a phenomenal propaganda machine, which follows Fidel Castro’s doctrine, which consists of: "turning defeat into victory".
Here in the US there are many who follow this doctrine, in one way or another, because we see to exhaustion how the information media promote ideas contrary to people's interest, prone to the acceptance of ideas of dark origin, making good Fidel Castro’s words, taken out of context, which illuminate what is intended to explain: “We were married to the lie and we learned to live with her; so when we hear the truth, it seems to us that the world shudders."
I expect that the well-known left-wing extremists in this forum will accuse me of McCarthyism, but they will avoid calling me fascist or racist, because in other writings I have made it clear that Nazi-fascism was a left-wing system based on Marxism. As for racism, nothing of the written above has racist intention of any kind.

This what I’ve been telling those who are so radical. When you get what you want, you’ll suffer just like the rest of us. However, I didn’t say it as brilliantly as you did.
Thank you for sharing with us.

I went back and read this over again. In the paragraph that begins “Cuba is a magnificent example...”, I couldn’t believe how close China has brought us to this point in almost every way in such a short time. The Kevyns on here have need to look around and see what’s happening.

China didn't bring us to this point, Trump has so poorly mishandled this by worrying about an economy that would have been toast anyway that he actually made everything worse. Had we done what South Korea did when they did it we would have been able to keep things going and be dealing with identifying, tracing, and quarantining those exposed, not everybody except in the hardest hit areas.

I'm pretty happy being in a state that is reducing deaths by tens of thousands, and am hoping that more right wingers who object to their freedom to die in greater numbers is being infringed on simply move to red states where ignorance is a welcomed trait.

This individual you mention is a poor mental patient, obsessive compulsive, worthy of pain, who reminds me of the story of a parrot that was on the mainmast of a sailboat and the boat began to sink. The parrot saw those who were disappearing into the water making fun of them and saying; "Look how they screw up," but when the boat continued to sink, he realized that he would sink too, so he said, "I think I'm screwed too."

Alber started this thread with a great post. True all the way. But somehow the likes of you seem to not get it.

"simply move to red states where ignorance is a welcomed trait."

>>>How totally wrong and wrong headed. It is the blue states that exhibit more and more ignorance, exactly what this thread is all about. But as usual, you can't see the forest for the trees. I hope you stay in your blue state, along with all of those others who would sing the "Blues" along with you. Please don't come to a red state and ruin what the red states have. More freedom and a sense of opposition against the Socialism and Communism promoted by the blue state leaders as they lead you by the nose, like a bull headed bull with a ring in its nose, down the path to servitude and hell. They now call it Progressivism, but there is nothing about progress in that movement. We can only hope you don't take us with you.

[quote=woodguru]China didn't bring us to this point, Trump has so poorly mishandled this by worrying about an economy that would have been toast anyway.........

When the President said about closing the entry of people coming from China, he was criticized for xenophobia and racism. The World Health Organization said there was no reason for this. Now they don't remember what they were saying at the time. I try to be impartial, but I see that it doesn't matter what this man does. If he had acted differently, they would criticize him for another reason.
I like stories and there is one that illustrates this situation that tells how they had a Christian buried up to his neck in the Roman circus and they released a lion to kill him. The lion approached and one of its paws was close to the mouth of the buried man, who took advantage of the closeness and bit the lion's paw. This act caused the 50,000 Romans who were in the stands to stand up as one and shout: "Christian, do not cheat, fight fair."
This story is a simile of what happens to the President with his political adversaries. Needless to say who is buried up to his neck.
Knowing the way the communists work, thinking that the outbreak of this virus is accidental, I am convinced that they tried to hide it but the most curious thing about this whole situation is that the intelligence agencies did not raise the alarm about this situation; and I am sure that what was happening on the mainland was known in Taiwan, since the situation on that island is controlled.
As for what you are saying about the President's concern over an economy that would have been toast anyway, it seems to me something that is not true, because the economy was doing splendidly and will do so again as soon as is over the hysteria that has been created. Do not confuse your wishes with reality, be objective in what you write. It seems that you do not live in this country, because in what you are writing, your hatred towards a person; leads you to desire the evil of the country, that in the end will be harming you.

Brainwashed is anyone that can listen to Trump say his response has been superb and believe it, that is pure proof that Trump could tell you a turd smells like a rose.

They insist there is plenty of testing, yet there is not a story that supports that anywhere. Call a hospital and see if you can get tested...you can't unless you are so sick you need to be taken to the emergency room. You will sit at home dealing with being sick, no testing, no contacting you to see who you were in contact with let alone them being contacted to tell them they need to quarantine themselves.

If you believe anything Trump says you are brainwashed

Yeah, like California that has already saved thousands of lives by quick actions, versus say Louisiana that went ahead and had Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday, or the soon to be decimated Florida that is already opening back up before they even get a handle on the damage they have done by their ludicrously slower start. I know nobody in a blue state that wants anything to do with economically depressed red states that can't even get good healthcare for their people when it is offered. Red state freedom means nothing but the freedom to wallow in ignorance.

We'll be talking about this impending train wreck this summer when red states will be sounding more like Italians when they realize how badly they got it wrong.

Being a parrot he should just have flapped his wings and flown off. If he was so foolish to be unable to use his God given abilities, then it is fine that he drown. Humans also have God given talents that will support them in hard times. Please use them rather than blame others when you make mistakes. On the other hand there are many Kevyns in the world and they will never learn. So be it, the world goes on with out them, doesn't it?

More gibberish by the uninformed and misinformed. Nobody knows how many were saved by early actions as opposed to later action as opposed to no action. All speculative at best. But nice numbers. And all projections and computer models have failed and been way off base. And as far as our President is concerned, no matter what he said or did, he would have been and has been trashed as not enough or not soon enough to to much and to soon.

And all we get from the likes of you is to trash the president with any little shred of a comment to outrageous announcements and bull shit from the opposition as to his incompetence and connections to Russia.

Must be hell for you and so many Liberals to wake up every day with all of those mis-connections running around in your brains between hate and illogic. But keep posting. You keep Opp active with us constantly correcting you.
