South Korea and Japan have things pretty much under control. Trump is about ready to reopen the nation and get us back to work. Taiwan is another nation in good shape. I think even Hawaii only has one active case statewide. Seems the islands have an easier time locating the ill and treating them.

Sorry Japan just declared a health emergency

Worldwide, there are around 4.2 billion commercial flights per year, that is 11.5 million flights per day. (does not include private aviation and military flights.)

Not to mention the economic health of the airline industry, a large percentage of air travelers depend on commercial flights for their livelihood - i.e., business travelers. (In some cases, a ticket on a domestic flight costs $16.00. Even so, many flights are nearly empty.)

Here in the US, and undoubtedly in many countries, air travelers must negotiate the security checkpoints for every flight. Now, are we going to set up Covid-19 testing operations to insure each and every passenger is not infected BEFORE they pass through the security checkpoint?

The health threat of the coronavirus pandemic itself will never surpass that of the economic disaster that will occur if this insanity goes on too long. As has been shown in past economic recessions, the healthcare and medical industry becomes dangerously ineffective due to loss of personnel, facilities, and supplies.
This is already happening.

Absolutely right on the spot!

China has an edge because their manufacturing is back up and running. They got a head start. Remember the book from around 1998 written by two top Chinese generals, Unrestricted Warfare. Its premise is that China cannot defeat America in a traditional war and would have to resort to a nontraditional type of warfare such as unleashing a pandemic that could undermine our economic and political system. This is certainly one way to do it. The unleashing of this virus is the biggest intelligence community failure in our history. Worse than 9/11. China is now profiting by leading the world as a supplier of PPE for other countries.

How many people were really sacrificed in China by the CCP to achieve this objective? Human life means absolutely nothing to communists, and they know that they can use this tactic as leverage against us and other western countries with a Judeo-Christian ethic that places a higher value on life that the godless communists do. We cannot let them off the hook for what they have done to the world. We will get no cooperation from the U.N. nor the WHO. Instead, We must hit them where it will do the most damage. I feel sorry for the nearly 1.4 billion people living under this evil regime. If you thought Trump's first embargo against China was without merit, get ready because you ain't seen nothin' yet! The enemy has shown its face and its cards. We need to declare all persons coming from China as Persona non-Gratis to the U.S., especially their government and industrial leaders. When the other side establishes the rules you have to play by, you better learn them well and learn them quickly or you'll never know what hit you. Trump has been trying to warn the American public about the danger they represent. The anti-Trumpers have been too busy to heed the message, what with their Russian collusion and incessant calls for impeachment. These useful idiots (as Stalin referred to them) are no better than any other leftist who wants to destroy this country and western civilization. They are a clear and present danger to our Constitutional Republic. But most are too stupid to realize they are not part of the solution, and instead, they ARE the problem. They are too busy looking for more ways to blame this on Trump so that they can't see the forest for the trees. As an Old Psychology professor on mine used to always say, "And Don't overlook the obvious. We have been overlooking the obvious for far too long. It's time to wake up and for once see who the real enemies of this country are. It is those on the Left. Supposing you are a leftist, which makes it obvious that you are an enemy of the United States, you won't think this is about you, But it is!

P.S. We mustn't forget about the far-right and alt-right who are also enemies of this country. Very little separates them from the leftists.

Brake means to stop.

Buying a round-trip ticket doesn't guarantee you'll get there or get back. People are trading in or rescheduling their flights that they may have made months ago for possible travel months from now. Most flights are being canceled. The ones that are not are flying with very few passengers. I suppose you think cruise ships are also coming and going in large numbers every day to and from many ports in the U.S.
