Oh, put a sock in it, Francis.

Pope Francis is certainly not letting a planetary crisis go to waste. He is trying to piggyback the religion of climate change on the back of the coronavirus pandemic.

MSNNews:
"We did not respond to the partial catastrophes. Who now speaks of the fires in Australia, or remembers that 18 months ago a boat could cross the North Pole because the glaciers had all melted? Who speaks now of the floods?" the Pope said.

"I don't know if these are the revenge of nature, but they are certainly nature's responses," he added.

Huh? What? Have the glaciers all melted? Why didn't you wake me up? That would have been pretty cool to watch.

For the record, you cannot cross the North Pole. Climate scientists are predicting that by 2050, it might be possible to "sail over the North Pole," but not now, or 18 months ago, or 18 months from now.

The Vatican fact-checkers blew that one.

I guess the pope thought he'd be laughed off the stage if he said it was "God's response" to climate change, or that God is trying to tell us something about climate. But giving sentience to "nature" is appallingly stupid.

The Hill:

"There is an expression in Spanish: 'God always forgives, we forgive sometimes, but nature never forgives,'" the Pope said in an interview with The Tablet, a Catholic weekly produced in the United Kingdom, that was published on Wednesday.

In addition to climate change, the pope believes we should take the "opportunity" to consume less and to learn to understand and contemplate the natural world." Why do liberals always see opportunity in disaster, death, and destruction? Why not just see the tragedy and let "opportunity" take care of itself?

What has that to do with the Wet market in China where Chinese slaughter wild animals, for food, including bats infested with the Coronavirus?

The Pope did not experiment this, not scientifically, but just his opinion about climate change. I think his thinking might be more in coherence with AOC.

Or did the Pope really say that? Sometimes, they reporters twist the story of some people they hate. I hope the Pope did not say that.

He's a Jesuit. They're communists. He's sold on the devil's one world government and he's going to take the Roman church's wayward daughters with her. Luther's reformation is over for a lot of protestants.

FYI, the pope is infallible ONLY when speaking on matters of faith.

You are certainly entitled to your self-righteous opinion as everyone is. My opinion of you is unprintable.

The pope is not infallible about anything. That is a declaration by a pope a long time ago and is self serving.

Do you ever get tired of labeling anyone who you might disagree with to be a liberal, what a deranged mind, who rationalizes that way but someone with a mental handicap?

Yes, global warming is promoting not only more insects but also more diseases and viruses, do some research. Real research, not a right propaganda site. Liberal's it appears, are more positive and less fearful of the worst outcome, they look for resolve and not burying their heads in the sand.

By the way, if you truly believe in God how can you disagree with what the pope suggests?

It's also called doing some reflection and coming away with a positive lesson learned, you should try it sometime.

No, a lesson learned is never from looking within. We are to look to the Lord for answers. We are taught that to love the world or anything in it is enmity with God. So global warming is a product of Satan. Trust Him when the world gets so hot it melts because He is doing it.

If you knew much about Christianity, you would understand that the Catholic Church has, from the beginning, been a corruption of the Christian Church by rulers who couldn’t let a crisis go to waste. The crisis they were responding to was that they were losing control of their populations because the people were abandoning their belief in idols and accepting the message of Jesus. To counter this, they developed the concept of “the vicar of Christ “, a fabrication that does not appear in Christian doctrine. What this pope said is a reversion to pre Abrahamic paganism!

If not by sailing, how would one cross the North Pole after the glaciers melt?

One who promotes liberalism is a liberal... He is a very liberal Pope.. Look at his policies....

Liberals are subject to confirmation bias.. How many times was the world ending these past few decades?

Insects and diseases have been with us throughout history... They are less a problem now than at any other time...

Quote:

The Pope leads the Catholics... While they are the largest Christian denomination, they do not speak for all of Christianity...

I think we really don't know what the Pope thinks about this matter. I think he is thinking of something bigger. I have to give this a benefit of the doubt, not jump into conclusions.

When it comes to science, the Pope could make mistakes. This is not the area that he is adrift to.

But the Gospel is his expertise.

I think your language is so nasty, without giving any benefit of something that is positive. You don't know anything what the Pope thinks about.

I would trust in God, cause every mankind is fallible. But when it comes to the God's teachings, the Pope knows what he is talking about.

Please be careful of what you say. I leave this judgement to my Lord, who is now suffering on the Cross because of our sins.
