It's a good thing that the amount of money a person earns isn't always commensurate with the amount of brains they have or you would be beyond dirt poor. We have one of the highest standards of living and many of the poorest somehow manage to own TVs, cellphones, automobiles, and in many instances, get better and cheaper healthcare than I can because they are low income. The infrastructure, highways, defense, emergency services and so on are paid for by the taxpayers.

Just who do you think are the taxpayers?

Apparently you are the one who thinks you shouldn't have to pay taxes! Yes, I want you to pay taxes, your fair share. I have never heard of a wealthy person who thinks life isn't fair because poor people don't earn enough to pay taxes. Nor have I ever heard wealthy persons insist that the poor pay more taxes. Over 50% of the federal budget comes from the very top percentage of income earners in this country. The ones reaping the benefits of our society are those who earn nothing and yet still live in the freest country on earth and are protected by our national defense, public services, the court system, and social services for the poor, sick, disabled, and mentally ill. Maybe that is the category you fall into; the mentally ill. Based on what you have stated, I would not be surprised.

Maybe your anger is misdirected at republicans because Democrats are just as guilty. Instead of bitching about it on OPP, what are you doing to change it and what are you suggesting others should do?
