Question: since Obama appointed the Pandemic Response Team as a result of the Ebola virus in 2014, and NOW we currently DON'T have a Pandemic Response Team....where did they go?

Better question, what did they do to get ready for the next virus??

You need to find the numerous articles that say it isn't true.
I'm tired of the lies and distortions.
It's beyond the pale.

They have several "response scenarios" based on the type of epidemic. By disbanding that leadership, there was NO team ready to respond to such a large scale outbreak. By the time Trump started actually listening it was too late to prevent it....by the time Trump began to act, the virus was already out of control....you know, like closing the barn door AFTER the horse has already gotten out.

Why do I "need" to do any such thing? If you look at Trump's actions, even SINCE the virus news broke, you would know he cares more about how his administration "looks" than the safety of the public. He has already told several states "not to share" their rising unemployment numbers because it defies his claim of building such a great economy. The public has a right to know just how serious this virus thing is.

The man is pure poison. period.

So, if the "stable genius" had the sense God gave a cockroach, he would have known that we seriously need a Pandemic Response team for situations like we are currently in. Go check history, we have a "near pandemic" virus get out about every four years. What made your boy think that because he conned his way into office that things would be different? Apparently, he's not as bright as you or he thinks - that's what!

We have the CDC, perhaps Obama's team was not what it ought to have been.

If that were true ( I don't believe it is) then it is still Trump's job as president to ensure the nation is prepared. So when the CDC and the WHO both told him "we need to prepare now" - he should have listened.

Incorrect. They were simply placed under the ospice of the CDC. They were all, as first respondents to a pandemic, unprepared. Period. End of story. Trump is a lay person. He is not the authority nor did he slow anythign down by trying to get people to remain calm. Down playing the seriousness and trying to calm the populous does not translate in to "hey CDC, be unprepared, go play golf!"

He put together a private sector-government team. Other than perhaps S.Korea it is hard to look at any other nation in as good of shape as the US.

The key in all 3 countries cases has been testing.

I worry because, as of yet, our health care system is behind the curve.

It is very clear, S Korea's "pandemic response team" was much, much more effective that the Obama "pandemic response team" and the CDC. They WERE NOT ready. But even then, our response was not that bad given the faulty info we were getting from WHO and China.

S Korea is a conundrum of paradoxes.

http://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20191010-south-koreas-population-paradox

Thus far they have had only 102 deaths out of 8,799 cases and that is not because of early "social distancing."

It's a mystery.

No offense, but I would like to know how your wife knows this or at the very least, the basis for her suppositions. Where did she study this "cell." Maybe she could speak the words or write them. The terms you are using don't make sense.

Neither do they make sense to me.
I'm just passing on the pieces of info from over heard conversations between her and her peers.
