This is the stage where this disease is relatively contained by people highly limiting exposures to other people. Part of what makes it effective is unlimited access to tests. That means when someone sick tests positive they give a list of everyone they know they have been in contact with and all of those people get tested...this is what identifies people who don't know they have it who are continuing to spread it because they don't know.

Without this the effectiveness of a lockdown is diminished, people who are unwitting carriers are still out and about and continuing the cycle. South Korea had this capability by the end of January, they have tested 280,000 people.

Why could Korea do so much better a job than the US? The US is saddled with a supreme leader that operates in degrees of incompetence having gotten rid of the pandemic disease control entity that does this well, and not having a clue how to appoint competent people to replace them, denial, self interest because he didn't want bad numbers because of his election. We have a leader that tunes in to FOX who considered this to be a dem hoax designed to ruin trump's election prospects.

You’re so dumb. If he can do it anyone can. So you’d rather have the companies not produce? You have to be one of the dumbest people I’ve ever interacted with.
When did you serve Marine?

Exactly, CDC wants a monopoly on all tests with it's two big national labs it has been running interference on... they are still slowing down the process by being the bottleneck. We do not have the testing capability we need until anyone showing signs gets quick tests and results, and then anyone they have been in contact with. Doctors and nurses can't even get quick tests if at all.

As long as the CDC tries to bottleneck and keep control of testing we will be behind the curve of what's needed. Then as an added outcome the CDC will be in control of statistics, and we will have zero chance of getting the straight numbers on tests given versus positives.

How can people trust an administration that tries to control the narrative of virtually everything? States were just asked/told to withhold their weekly unemployment numbers. They are what they are and it serves no purpose for trump to obstruct the truth and facts.

Several American companies (Everlywell and Tele-Medicine to name a couple), will soon have available a home test kit for COVID-19 (the kit will also test for other viruses such as SARS and H1N1). The process for obtaining the kit involves logging on to the website and completing a questionnaire. If you qualify, a test kit will be sent to you for a fee of $135.00.

The kit includes swab-based collection equipment, as well as shipping materials that ensure safe transport of a person’s sample as outlined by the CDC and UN Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods to help prevent any possible risk to mail carriers or couriers actually moving the packages. The samples collected are then tested by labs certified for COVID-19 testing under the FDA Emergency Use Authorization issued to help build America’s testing capacity.

The company also includes overnight shipping labels for the samples, and says that results will be available in a secure, online format within 48 hours. For anyone who tests positive, Everlywell will also be connecting them with certified physicians that can provide them with consultations and guidance via telehealth, and it notes that any positive results will also be sent to federal and state reporting agencies, as is currently required by mandate.

They're so much smarter than all the people running this in the government, I can't believe they don't have high positions in Washington.

That's what Dianne Feinstein and several other Senators did, not the President. And, yes, there were CROOKS on both sides of the political aisle.

Incorrect and I’ll use a site you may believe given their liberal cover ups all the time.

Claim
Jared Kushner’s brother, Joshua Kushner, owns a company involved in COVID-19 testing.
Rating

Mixture
About this rating
What's True
Jared Kushner’s brother, Joshua, is co-founder of the health insurance start-up Oscar, which recently released an online tool to locate COVID-19 testing centers in some areas. At least in the past, Jared Kushner has had a financial interest in Oscar.
What's False
Oscar is not involved in the actual process of COVID-19 testing or in the manufacturing of such a test. Oscar created a website — open to the public — that screens users to see if they qualify for a test and then provides a list of testing sites nearby.
