Poodle with a mohawk.
I don't really have a mohawk.

Do you have a poodle?

Yes.
I guess I should be ashamed of what I'm going to say, but I just saw where a priest set up an outdoor confessional.
I couldn't help but think, toot and tell or go to hell.

I know.
The priest doing it was laughing with the news lady when she asked what people were confessing to.

When translated to English, Zhao’s recent Tweet reads, “Q: Could it be that the US government’s position that the US military brought the virus to Wuhan? A: There have been some recent discussions about the source of the new coronavirus.”

This is the only time it was ever brought up an it was in a tweet... Dare you to find the tweet h was responding to

Disclaimer: This I obviously not official party policy... Unlike America, China does not disseminate party policies via tweets...

Most of what Trump tweets are not policy statements. Was this portrayed as a policy tweet? Possibly? depends on who says it and who reads it. This isn't the only time it was brought up. Like I said. I read something and then it's gone. Since I don't save it I have trouble finding it later. But there were several reports about this in the media. It started in late February as I recall. True or false? The original source? Who knows! Does Trump screw up by saying things based on something that is not exactly true? Yes, he has been known to stretch the truth. Remember, I didn't say Trump was correct. I was just expounding on why I think he uses the term. For what it's worth. I'm not going to look for it because it isn't a big deal to me. Spanish flu didn't originate in Spain. A rose by any other name still smells as sweet.
However, many diseases have been named after the place they are first discovered. Ebola is a river in Africa, an area where the virus was traced to. The WHO wants this way of naming things eliminated.

getting back to your original point, I agree that it is ignorance. Some people see this as a war. How do you denigrate the enemy? Call them names. Kraut, Jap, Charlie, Fish Heads, Gook... Ignorance and Bigotry have existed throughout the world and since the beginning of civilization. Tribalism still exists, especially during times of uncertainty and crisis.

Just pointing out that to date there is a single , extremely poor, source for the claim..

And of course I'm aware that Trump doesn't announce policy via tweet... That was a joke...

Did you see my thread on the virus names? WHO can name stuff whatever they want... But they need to cut the cries of racism and xenophobia out of their reasoning....

It cuts both ways, doesn't it? Countries still have trouble cooperating with each other in the name of national interest. It's We the People who get left in the dark.

China Attacking American Journalists
3 days ago editor

China and the United States are waging a silent war on each other. The United States has caught the Chinese people cheating people in the treaties that they have signed in good faith. President Trump has placed tariffs on China to get them to the table and develop an honorable agreement. But now the latest battle being fought is over media image. China is telling all American journalists that they must not paint a bad image of the country or there will be trouble.

China stated that they would have to take “reciprocal countermeasures” if they did not stop promoting the coronavirus outbreak in a way that harms the country. Their countermeasures are aimed at forcing American journalists to turn in their media credentials. Those that work for the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post are being targeted. The same reporting that they do against America is being done against China. Each journalist is not allowed to report any news in China or Hong Kong.

China also is pointing out that this decision is in direct response to the United States “slashing the staff size of Chinese media outlets in the US, which is expulsion in all but name.” Media control is a trademark identifier of communist countries. They monitor and control all media, so they can force them to promote a positive image of a failing system.

The Chinese officials have stated that “In recent years, the US government has placed unwarranted restrictions on Chinese media agencies and personnel in the US, purposely made things difficult for their normal reporting assignments and subjected them to growing discrimination and politically-motivated oppression.” They believe that they must make it difficult for American journalists in turn.

China is trying to get the world to see them in a different light. The virus started in China which is bad enough for their image. What China does not like is the fact that their media outlets in America must now register their assets with the U.S. government. The decision to require such a measure was because China controls its news outlets. They keep a tight handle on what is said about the government and the country. It is all about image.

The control they have is best put by one official “The control over both the content and editorial control have only strengthened over the course of Xi Jinping’s term in power. These guys are in fact arms of the CCP’s (Chinese Community Party’s) propaganda apparatus.” What has been noted is that as the virus moved out of the country the Chinese began to monitor and control more of the news that was being said around the world.

One story of control is the doctor that first told the media about the coronavirus. He was forced by Chinese officials to sign a statement that said he lied about the details of the virus. China had something to hide that they did not want to let out. The reporting on the truth was limited to what the government of China wanted the world to see.

Tom Cotton who is a Republican for Arkansas stated that “The Chinese Communist Party stays in power through its state propaganda outlets and restricting access to information. It’s no surprise that a free press — particularly one that reports on China’s terrible response to the Wuhan coronavirus — has threatened the CCP enough to be expelled from their shores.”

China has pushed the notion that the American military brought the virus to the shores of China, so they could blame the Chinese people. Chinese officials have falsely reported this story and are demanding the truth from the United States. They are looking for things that are not there. To refuse their request is to invite more “countermeasures” according to the Chinese people.

China states that “The above-mentioned measures are entirely necessary and reciprocal countermeasures that China is compelled to take in response to the unreasonable oppression the Chinese media organizations experience in the US. They are legitimate and justified self-defense in every sense.” There is nothing justified about the lies that they are promoting. They have restricted the truth to the point that everything that they report is full of lies.
