Many would say that eliminating the Pandemic Response team is actually a "funding cut" to the CDC. In fact, Trump did try to cut CDC funding, but Congress blocked him, so the fact that funds were not cut does not in any way let Trump off the hook. Further, having the money -which we do - without the experts to guide the response is like having kool-aide without water or sugar....its just a bitter and tangy powder.

Why do so many people have such a difficult time simply admitting that Trump messed up?

A "sensible" president who claims to be a "stable genius" would have listened to the experts at his own CDC, and even those at the WHO -not his cronies who have no medical degrees or even backgrounds in such areas.
