Or any less risky than going to a restaurant for dinner or a beer?? Are the checkers at Walmart at any less of a riskk than a waiter at any restaurant or bar> At least the restaurant and bar have decent levels of hygiene. Would you rather eat in a clean restaurant or a Walmart????

Why is Walmart open
Money! Actually I haven't heard of any grocery stores being told to close. Actually, they would be considered essential services, I think.

Walmart is open because they have the grocery section where people buy the basic needs on food and supplies.

Essential services, I know.

But, it doesn't negate the fact that they are ingoring the need to maintain social distancing. It is much more of a risk than having dinner at a restaurant, where good hygiene is or should be the norm.
It's a contradiction of what they are saying we should be doing. Letting people stand in lines, elbow to elbow, in a dirty Walmart store, for up to two hours, is not consistent with their fear of disease transmission. Many of those in those lines will go home to an elderly person with a pre-existing condition thinking, "it won't happen to me." In other words, it promotes the spread of the disease to a much greater degree than playing golf or having a burger and fries.

There were no more than two people in a line yesterday at safeway, I asked when they would have TP and paper towels stocked back up and they said they are restocking every morning it just disappears. The people shopping were a lot more relaxed looking people who were just getting normal amounts of things. I wanted two big packs of paper towels, but it was for my wife's veterinary clinics as she goes through a ton of it wiping down and sterilizing surfaces in between appointments.

Go in the early hours when they are selectively allowing only elderly shoppers. I am referring to this morning at a local Walmart in the DFW area. The line was at least 100 yards long, wall to wall people. I was just wanting to return something for my wife. I did not stay.

Lol, I haven't been to Walmart in 5 years. I've heard so many weird people going there. Some are bare, boy-girl appearance. People have to cooperate in solving this problem. We need Martial Law to stop these people roaming around?
