If you are 65-70 and have pre-existing condition/s, STAY IN.

Is it true that people quarantined in China are yelling from their windows that it's all fake??

No
That would be horrible...
Although we have communicated that way
Just saying hi and happy little new year and stuff...
Why would someone do that?

Glad you have that all figured out, I feel better...let's hear what you have to say in another couple of months, and pay attention to how much better states look that go into tighter rules before they have a problem, there are plenty of states going with the Italian model to get a definitive answer.
Yea they will all be homeless and bankrupt but healthy!
1200 dollars won’t pay my mortgage! I’ll take my chances on the flu!
Almost everybody in the 60+ age group has pre-existing conditions. Hell, at 78 my pre-existing conditions have pre-existing conditions.

Why? If the claim is true then I can think of reasons why they might. That's why I asked.

But if it were a hoax they could just leave their apartments

Not if they are being forced to remain inside. But I DID have my doubts that it really happened.
What is actually closed in China and if closed, is it voluntary?

Pretty much everything in the beginning... Except for essential services..
We locked down.... And ng city is a couple thousand miles from Wuhan...
All apartment complexes sealed up... It's not so horrible because they all have small supermarkets and groceries in the complex..
Now that taxis are running again and hotels are open... The large markets are allowing people in again (they were delivering before...)
I could always leave my apartment, as long as I wore a mask and had my temperature checked at the gate, but there was literally no where to go.... -20 C up here... that's an average...
In Hubei it was worse... People weren't allowed out of the complexes unless they had work or were going to a quarantine center... And all food was delivered....
It has been harsh... Glad it's almost over... In some cities schools have opened... In other restaurants and shopping centers...
Mine is being careful because our provincial capital has had several new cases... Imported from returning Chinese from Europe... But it means we will continue longer...

At this point, where are your elderly?

Most live with their children...
Some are in homes... But not many...
And because the quarantine started during new year, most families were together....
Homes area very North American idea...
