They also say the Carona Virus doesn't survive above 68 degrees. Possibly rumor, but I seem to recall seeing something that said this. It was probably on OPP.

We got burned with a debt load in 2007/2008 that was a $13k a month outgo...never again...now it's a mortgage that's 35% of the value of the house with an apartment rental that offsets 2/3rds, a car payment for Jeanne's business we could pay off, the only credit card balances on zero% rate cards that will be paid off before the zero is up. Jeane's business could be off 50% or more and we're good. That feeling of more going out than is coming in is a killer, never again. I've held off on buying a boat until I can pay cash. I suspect that in the fall someone's loss is going to be my gain, which saddens me to see, but that's the way it is.

I have a contractor friend who can't pay his bills some months, makes $15k in others, he doesn't get the save thing to balance it out. I told him I can't bail him out when I see him putting $6000 in performance work on his truck and quads and then he can't pay his cable bill two months later. He put $40k in a custom Harley as a priority...

Yes, pretty stupid, like The Ant and The Grasshopper. Those with money will make a killing and those without money, living paycheck to paycheck will be in for a rude awakening. They can expect to see belt-tightening and less income flow as businesses and available hours for employees contract. Why they never learn this is beyond me. Don't live beyond your means and don't live on credit cards. Let the fire sales begin. I could use a new RV or even a car since mine is now 15 years old.

I am currently remodeling a rental property and, since it is in CA, I have given serious thought about selling it because I don't want to invest any more money in CA. But now, I have to rethink this position if the home prices drop. I may have to bide my time and rent it out for a few years. On the other hand, Interest rates may also drop and could make this a great time to buy this summer.

Wouldn't it be terrific if we could foretell the future?! The best one can do is make an educated guess based on past experience in similar situations.

I've been poor, and it's a mentality that can't be let go of.

I've been neither. Well, maybe we were poor when I was a child but that didn't concern me because I had nothing with which to compare.

When I was in Philadelphia with a girlfriend that had grown up in New York and gone to school in Philly, we were laughing about how the announcement of a two or three day storm caused stripped grocery store shelves, a two day storm would do that.

Stores stock an amount of food such as bread that supplies a couple of days demand. How much bread does a couple go through, a loaf in five days, a family a couple? But people have this stock pile mentality that has them grabbing several loaves of bread, more than they will possibly eat, and it's that way with everything.

The checker at the store was laughing and saying people had baskets piled as full as they could get with cleaning supplies and frozen goods. My wife is shopping right now and all she wants is what she normally gets every week. We have the staples that will last us for weeks if we have to stay home.

My point here is asking what it is that has people losing touch with any reality of what they will need, it's mindless grabbing unspecified amounts.

I think the underlying problem is not that people are over stocking, more that they had not had a reserve already stocked for any of a hundred possible scenarios.
As an earthquake forecaster, I pled with people to be prepared even when they live in low risk areas.
Better to have and not need than need and not have.
What would one do if not prepared, a household of kids and the threat of empty shelves?

Low interest rates usually trend higher home prices. When rates are high, fewer people in the market.
You may consider listing it for 25% over market, just in the event inventory becomes hard to find and this could happen very, very quickly.

Ugh! Forget the hand. Get a bidet. You won't believe how much toilet paper you will save. I have one that even blow dries your ass!

It is a wonder to watch the herd mentality.
Granted TP will be worth gold when SHTF but this is just bizarre.

And they tell us to worry about the germs blowing around the room from hand dryers in bars and restaurants. Now this is scary, Maybe keep it for the home only.

I've never seen one in a public place. I think they are for the home. Got mine at Lowe's. It has a seat warmer and uses warm water.

Hand dryers, most all restaurants have eliminated paper or cloth towels.
You may be referring to bidets.
Yours sounds like a comfortable dump.

Stores are already beginning to replenish shelves in my area. The real panic-stricken have already stocked-up.
