Appearing Tuesday on the Fox Business Network, House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) dismissed record-low black unemployment under President Donald Trump, stating black Americans “were fully employed during slavery.”

A transcript is as follows:

NEIL CAVUTO: As you’ve been seeing with Michael Bloomberg, he’s been jumping in the polls on the heels of his very expensive, pricey ad buys if you include $125 million slated for Super Tuesday. Could you, would you back him?

REP. JAMES CLYBURN: I’m going to back whoever our nominee is — Absolutely.

CAVUTO: Even with the things he’s said about African-Americans? Does that bother you?

REP. CLYBURN: Not as much as what Trump has said about African-Americans. Anytime that I go to the polls, I’m considering positives and negatives on all candidates and I try to go with the one whose positives outweigh the negatives.

CAVUTO: Let’s leave the words aside, whether you like his style or not, tweets or not, or comments or not, he’s delivered the goods for a lot of African-Americans. Does he not with record-low unemployment levels?… You don’t think that’s something that’s constructive?

REP. CLYBURN: No, because it’s not true. I’m saying that the African American unemployment is not the lowest it’s ever been unless you count slavery… We were fully employed during slavery. So, it all depends how you measure this up.

It's true, that thought came to my mind awhile back to. And I believe that's what the Democrats are aiming for - returning to slavery, except not just for blacks this time. They want to control everyone.

====================
Slavery to people seem an ugly name. Actually, it is not. It was a common name since the early days and even used in the Old and New Testament.

The word "slave' during the early days are now called "household workers".Slave was the word used before. Now, most of us have household helpers helping us around our home.
Baby sitting, elderly care giving, or doing the clean ups around the house. These are not bad works. It is an honest means of earning a living. Don't be ashamed working for these kinds of jobs. Because during the old, they are called slaves. As time evolved we became civilized and the names given to these workers have changed. In fact we treat them with respect and kindness similar to everybody in the household.

Yes let Democrats take credit for full black employment under slavery. Like Nazis finding employment for Jews in the Concentration camps.

How do you see slavery as employment? They were given the bare essentials for living (room and board) in turn for hard work and long hours.

I don't know any slaves, never have seen a slave, never heard of any slaves.
Toured plantations in the South and saw the slave quarters and the description of the slave duties.
Humane to say the least, as symbiosis takes over each, master and slave need one another.
I've seen some accommodations in Europe that were more uncomfortable than the slave quarters in the South. At least the slaves ate well and didn't share a single bathroom down the hall with 45 people.

The first thing they want to do is take our guns away. Do you know why the Dummycrats want to take our guns away? It's because they plan on doing something to you that would make you want to shoot them.

Nope, they had the great outdoors.
People in Europe share a bathroom down the hall.
Europe is not the glamorous place the lefties claim it is. It's filthy, poor, and turning Muslim.

Europe is crumbling. Its crime rate goes up. Its taxes also. What is amazing is millions of Europans in almost every country ignore these problems. If the people don't take charge a disaster will occur that will make Nazi Germany look inviting.

Yep, the Europeans think that adding more muslims and more diversity and higher taxes and government control is the answer to their problems of poverty and crime and a decaying infrastructure.
