From Governor Huckabee
Here’s a good lesson in how the media push a preferred narrative by leaving out context. Last week, the Washington Post ran a story quoting Human Rights Watch, headlined, “At least 138 Salvadorans deported by the U.S. were killed in El Salvador: Rights group.” The thrust of the story is that the US has blood on its hands and should have known not to deport these people back to their dangerous home nation, and the situation “will only worsen under Trump.”
https://www.westernjournal.com/lib-org-admits-obama-sent-deportees-deaths-blasts-trump-instead/And now, the context they didn’t highlight: of those 138 deportees, 109 were deported under the Obama Administration. Most who were murdered were killed by gangs, particularly MS-13. As the story notes, since gangs mostly target other gang members, it raises the question of why those deportees were killed by gangs, and how safe it would have been to leave them here in America.
As Paul Harvey used to say, “Now you know…the rest of the story!”

From Governor Huckabee br br Here’s a good lesson... (
show quote)
The people in the Post story were not undocumented immigrants, they were people who applied for political asylum and were denied and sent to their deaths. Both Trump and Obama have handled this poorly but rather than correct the problem Trump has doubled down on bad policy.

The story in the post, they painstaking tracked down the fate of each of the people in the story. It is a brilliant in-depth piece of reporting and well worth reading.

Wrong. They did not legally and properly apply for asylum.

Yes they did and were declined, it is very doubtful that you even read the article.
