How do you know a speech was good???

When it lights the president's hair on fire and he has to cancel the rest of his daily calendar. No sooner had Mitt Romney spoke in the Senate chamber that Trump a scheduled meeting with reporters in the Oval Office was abruptly canceled. Now I know you cons will have some excuse for this but for the rest of us, we know it's because Mitt lit the president's hair on fire and he was left running screaming around the Oval Office. What else could our Narssissit in Cheif do when someone has the balls to stand up to him and tell the world just what a POS he really is.

Trump hates the truth and he specifically hates it when it is spoken against him and that's exactly what Mitt Romney did; he spoke with power and conviction against what the president did! He was the only Republican, House and Senate, who had the stones to speak the truth about our fearless leader.

Snip>>>I am aware that there are people in my party and in my state who will strenuously disapprove of my decision, and in some quarters, I will be vehemently denounced. I am sure to hear abuse from the President and his supporters. Does anyone seriously believe I would consent to these consequences other than from an inescapable conviction that my oath before God demanded it of me?

To paraphrase 'That he would subject himself to these abuses if not for his oath before god demanded it of me!' So was his oath before god any different than the other CC hypocrites in the Senate chamber? This begs the question of which god do CC's in the chamber and across this country follow? Blade Runner is your god any different than the one Mitt follows? Will he rebuke Mitt for what he says or will he rebuke you for what you think--that the president innocent not because he was shown to be not guilty but because you so hate the Democrats that anything they say and do you are vehemently against!

Did you notice that your ire is against the person(s) delivering the message but not the message that they delivered but Mitt had no ire for the person(s) or the message but was simply doing what the oath they swore before God required him to do? I have to wonder how you would vote if you could remove the fallacies that force you to believe how you believe. If you could remove the hatred from your thought and leave only rational thought as your guide. For Mitt, it wasn't the messenger but the message that was important. For you can you look at any argument without first looking to the person who is delivering it?

Mitt's speech was one of the most powerful political speeches that I've heard in my life...so powerful that I listened to it several times and read the transcript several times more. Mitt's conviction was founded on the belief he had in God. Is not your conviction founded on the same belief system? Are not his principles the same principles that you've come to develop?

I have laughed at jokes made about Mitt Romney in the past but this speech came from the heart and although I do not share his faith I find great respect for his moment of being absolutely real. The contrast between his consummate act of courage stands in stark contrast to his craven contemporaries in the Senate and above all else overshadows the low life knuckle dragging boor and his pathetic pretenses to be our leader.

More likely you were stomping around the house after that great speech.
President Trump could care less about that loser.

I already saw him give his speech. And couldn't contain my hearty laughter as he gave it! Thanks for the laffs Mitt!
Mitt is desperate to remain relevant. If he thinks his pompous pronouncements will help him he's seriously mistaken. All it's gonna do is get him banished into exile come next election. If he's not recalled before then.
What I find really funny is how Mitt had been vilified by you lefties before he voted for impeachment. Now all of a sudden he's Mother Teresa for listening to God and voting his conscience. HAH! Hilarious!!
The only reason to vote against Trump, is if you're tired of winning. Sayonara, Mitt.
