Is that they do understand the implications of their policies, yet they do them anyway. It's clear that Republicans and the Conservatives that support them want to destroy the government. But don't you conservatives understand you are also going to destroy the programs that you, yourselves, benefit from?

It's been happening for decades. College used to be affordable because it was heavily subsidized by the federal government. Reagan's tax cut left government underfunded and all levels of education felt the brunt of that underfunding. That's just one example. Contrary to popular belief tax cuts don't pay for themselves but they do accomplish two objectives of Republicans and that is 1) to shift wealth upwards towards the top and 2) to leave government starved for revenue making new programs, or the ability to save old programs, impossible for today's federal government.

Social Security and Medicare for all aren't difficult to accomplish but they will require us to change our tax structure. SS and medicare will have to apply to all income and at all levels. But no Republican will ever suggest raising taxes or even changing our tax structure if the wealthy find themselves paying one penny more than they do today. And if a Democrat broaches the topic they are labeled as socialists and once that brush comes out there is no way to talk objectively without conservatives going into a complete and total communist meltdown.

So has that happened yet? Yes, in every program and agency held by the federal government. None are at the level they need to be all because we use tax cuts as a means to control government growth when we should first cut government and then cut taxes to follow. But because Republicans are married to tax cuts and Democrats to timid to stand up to them we will end up bankrupting this country and destroying what took centuries to create...

S.S. is our money. We've been forced to pay OUR money into it thanks to FDR. Another example of government sticking their nose where it doesn't belong and then they have the gull and audacity to call it a benefit and make stupid liberal supporters think that their doing us a favor. If you can't figure that out there's no hope for you and you should move to another country. Say Venezuela.

There is not a single alphabet soup Federal Agency that is not overstaffed & overpaid, except border patrol. All elected officials have bloated staffs.

I you have to deal routinely with any government agency from city through Federal, you will find this to be true.

Let this sink in: America was doing just fine before the left's bought and paid for Democratic Party began it's run to "fundamentally change" every last nook and cranny of American life, from the deterioration of the American family to revocation of the very liberties on which this nation was founded.

Sure, there were problems that needed to be worked out, and when the three branches worked together, they were indeed worked out.

The Democrats thrive on creating non-existent problems and then "solving" them to the detriment of all concerned, as often as not by violating the Tenth Amendment -- in certain leftist states such as New York and California, they claim Tenth Amendment rights that the Constitution does not allow for, such as sanctuary policies for illegal aliens and assaults upon Second Amendment rights.

One example goes back around six decades, when it was the Republicans in Congress, not the Democrats, who got the Civil Rights Act passed. President Lyndon B. Johnson (D), a good ol' boy through whose veins Jim Crow flowed freely, seized upon the opportunity and launched the welfare/squalid housing projects/broken family unit/high rate of incarceration generations for blacks, affixing his signature after first saying, "This'll have the n-----s voting Democrat for the next 200 years."

Overregulation and corporate taxation that sent millions of jobs overseas and kept already taxed capital in the $ trillions from returning to the United States, disastrous healthcare policies, financing of global terror with the taxpayers' money (Joint "Comprehensive" Plan of Action) under the guise of giving Iran "their own money back," a "come one, come all" invitation to anyone who wishes to enter the country illegally and stay here, the worst division of Americans since the War Between the States, right: it's the Democrats who are causing the lion's share of problems here with policies that hold the intentions of the nation's founders, along with the Constitution, in pure, unmitigated contempt.

Keep on posting your disdain for America by supporting a political dogma that views the American flag, American history, American patriotism and the Pledge of Allegiance as racism and symbols of hate.

Those of us who love this country see your tissues of lies and leftist propaganda for what they are, Peter, and are thankful that, thanks to the increasingly aggressive behavior of your feckless leaders in the Democratic Party and the overt boldness of a lying media, more and more Americans are waking up to the menace posed by today's socialist Democrats.

Blather all you'd like, but the truth will be in your face come Tuesday, 3 November. Then you can emulate your Democrat icons and blame everything from Russian collusion to deplorable voters.

A less likely outcome of the coming elections, which will see two Republican majorities and President Trump heading into his second term, will be you waking up, confronted by the truth and ceasing to be a tool for a political dogma that is dedicated to bringing our great nation to its knees.

As government expands liberty contracts...
Less government, over bloat, over lapping divisions and getting those who owe taxes , around 3 billion dollars now, to pay up would enhance our country!

I can’t remember where it was published but I made a copy of a comparison of what Federal Employees make vs. same skills, experience, in the private sector. I made the copy for my niece her final year of law school. A new graduate working for The Federal Government made 15-20% more than new graduates in private sector not including all the extra holidays, other perks.

We are responsible for this for sending Representatives & Senators to Washington virtually permanently. Washington is a gravy train. The only Representative I know of who came home from Washington w/ less money than he went with was a former Governor of SC. There should be no position of “professional politician” & no retirement for having served as one. Senior management from top to 3rd, 4th level down in every Government Agency should be replaced when every President takes office.

Clear to me none of us seem to know “Economics 1”, or The history of the United States of America’s! Individual responsibility and respect and equal opportunity for all. Simple. No special treatment for different groups, fairness for all. We all are loosing it, that which made America great...Faith in God, not man. Not government but personal responsibility

I disagree with your 'fairness' comment. Fair is subjective. Who gets to define what is 'fair'?

I suggest 'equality for all'.

Your thoughts?
