So as we all knew weeks ago, on Wednesday the senate conversation will be over and trump, like Clinton and Johnson will still be in office.

What is different this time??

The future will keep the president in an untouchable office, he will in effect, do as he damn well pleases. That will not be looking after the interests of the nation but rather his own power and interest.
While republicans this time said, yes he did this but we will not remove him.
It is now set in stone, the president can do as he will.. How long will that be? until the congress/senate gets the unity to once more create a balance of power as the founders laid our..
Will that every happen?? Not anytime soon you can bet on that.. will the nation prosper.. Not on your life.. gone is the shining light on the hill.. will it ever return? only with the massing of all the nation. Will that ever happen? not if the two parties continue as they are.. only the rich will become richer at the expense of the remaining population..

These following are a couple of paragraphs from an opinion page so read if you wish..

>>>>>>>>>>>>>

New precedent set -- There's a second way this impeachment, and Trump's ability to stay in office afterward, has changed the country. It is now presumably OK, in the eyes of the Senate, for a President to use his office and US foreign policy to do political harm to his rivals. Trump has argued it was absolutely above board for him to seek political help from Ukraine. And he's asked China for the same kind of help. Democrats continue to howl about it and some few Republicans complained in statements on their way to acquit him. But there is, as Mitch McConnell would say, now precedent for it.

We will learn the truth about all of this
Arguing they had to act before the election, Democrats didn't wait for the courts to force cooperation by the White House. They just impeached Trump for what they knew at the time -- in December -- and took the case to the Senate, where the Republican majority voted its political interest and acquitted him.
But John Bolton's book will ultimately come out, despite this latest attempt by the White House to stop it. All of the documents that likely confirm the storyline still exist. They will ultimately come out. All the people who refused to testify will ultimately answer questions. And then we'll be left to figure out what to do with whatever else we learn.

Nah he is your president-- I myself depend on no man or woman--I am my own president. This time next year it will be some other poor sob being griped about and put under the microscope for every thing they do. Better them than me.

No Tom, this time next year, Trump will still be your president.

As long as you are an American citizen, Trump is your president.

But we accept the fact that it triggers you so bad that you live in denial of that fact.

I admire your rugged individualism.

But Trump is your president, like it or not.

Actually all Americans LOSE, especially Republicans when a future president in an untouchable office turns on them. That day will come. Probably after the coming election.

Argghhh I'm triggered---I'll be alright--Things are going to change come voting time----Even so not much will change where I live--Most of the sawmill jobs will still be gone and commercial fishing will still be screwed by weather and catch limits. Gotta make my own way

That happened to us once before, and we lived to tell about it. Much to his (and your) chagrin.

This impeachment was in the making from the time he was elected. When the Democrats finally settled on articles of impeachment, they didn't reference a high crime or misdemeanor. They alleged obstruction of Congress, but did not take the proscribed steps to enforce their subpoenas. If they had, and the court sided with Congress, if Trump failed to comply with those subpoenas there would have been a basis for the charge. The abuse of power charge could be argued as a disagreement over policy.
Hopefully in the future, impeachment will be used only when a actual crime is involved and the House follows procedure and gathers all of the evidence and witnesses before a trial in the Senate.

All the voting was about reelection.. as long as the orange cult refuses to be critical of trump the other republicans and Dems in red districts will fear not being elected more than robbing the nation..

OH. Nearly forgot,, can you name those Dems who voted against impeachment?

I only have one name and I know very well why he responded as he did..
