I used to work with a black man years ago who once told me the term "black" is inaccurate. When I asked why, he replied, "Well, there's black, meadow brown, high yellow and damn near white." You can quickly tell race was NOT an issue with him nor was it with me. Personally, I like to think of everyone as American and/or Christian because what they look like does not reflect the content of their character - actions do.

People whose parents raised them with manners, call other people what they wish to be called. Blacks prefer to be called blacks. They no longer use the term "negro", Spanish for black, anymore than Euro-Americans use blanco, which is Spanish for white.
