I think we all like the truth, Tom, but I was wondering the same thing myself. I'd like to know how anyone knows what some Senator would like to vote but doesn't have the testicular fortitude to vote that way. Seems to me that would be sorta like proving a negative. Maybe I'm missing something.

What retributions? I don't recall a dead list associated with Trump. And Congressmen are not in the executive branch and under his authority to be fired or recalled. So what retribution would supposedly be the only reason they would not vote to impeach if the voting weren't secret? The only retribution would be from their constituents come election time. That is as it should be!!!!!

It is re election time and it is a fact that trump will campaign against you if you cross him also predominately trump supporting states voters will vote against them if they are against trump. Imagine losing all the perks of office and lobbiests dollars .

I would bet bucks (not a lot because I'm not rich) that even a secret vote would not convict. I think you "secret vote" dream, is just that, a dream. You know it will never happen because the R's are in charge in the Senate. This is a moot issue.
The House voted in a rank partisan fashion. All thinking people in America (including the Senate) see that. The House could not even name a specific law broken.
America is far better off after 3 years under Trump than after 8 years under the previous administration.
