God didn't ignore anything. He gave man the right to think without any obstruction. God gave man the free will to do what they wanted but also made it a point that they should follow the word of God. Many men and women of that time and this time still don't follow the word of the lord our God. Our world is imperfect and fallible but our Lord has trust, that we will repent for our sins and attempt to not do them again. Many fail and after repenting continue to do the same sinful things over and over. Those people are not repentant for their deeds.
