I have been reading the Constitution and i can not find where the President elect chooses his VP. What I read is the VP is elected by the people. The one with the most votes for the VP is elected. Am I wrong?

The vice president is indirectly elected together with the president to a four-year term of office by the people of the United States through the Electoral College, Section 2 of the Twenty-fifth Amendment. It was ratified February 10, 1967.

Section 2 of the Twenty-fifth Amendment states and I quote, "Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress." This is I see it, after he was elected, by the people, in the general election.
