The owner of Jim Key was a brilliant man, originally a slave who educated himself and became a veterinarian and helped found the ASPCA. Yes, it is a remarkable book. My sister bought me a copy earlier this year . . . well worth the read. I live with 9 horses and they're so smart. They learn all the things you don't want them to, like unlocking gates and letting their friends out of the stalls so they can go graze in the pasture together.
I’ve found that animals live up or down to our expectations and how we treat them.
I’m going to look for that book.
