Trump's decision was not impulsive, his decision was based on compassion and the reality of the futility of keeping US troops in a hopeless and dangerous situation. The sanctions on Turkey worked. Erdogan yielded and stopped the bloodshed. For now. Who the hell knows when the next asshole over there will stir the shit? The ME is f**ked any way you look at it. Must be a thousand different rebel and Jihadist groups who want a piece of the action, and none of them swear allegiance to any country.
The sanctions on Turkey only impacted 1/2 of one percent of Turkey's economy plus they were taken down before they could possibly have been felt by the economy. And if he didn't want to keep the troops in a hopeless and dangerous situation why did he just move them to Iraq plus bring in several thousand more to be stationed in Saudi Arabia? Wasn't the whole premise in removing troops from Syria because he was going to bring them home? And, if there are a thousand of different rebel groups wouldn't it have been a good idea to keep the Kurds on our side? I mean after all the Kurds had killed thousand of rebels ISIS members so we didn't have to--don't you think they could have been counted on to do the same in the future or do you think Erdogan is going to assume that task?
