[quote=nwtk2007]"The Trump administration's perennial push for steep budget cuts, an exodus of senior staffers with decades of experience and constant allegations that agency employees represent a deep state has sent morale at the State Department to an unprecedented low."

It's called draining the swamp[quote] The swamp scum is concentrated and more toxic now.

I think our loss of morality is due to Buba Clinton and Obama. Trump is a GOD fearing man. You do understand what that is, right.

The trimming and more efficient running of the government and its perceived 'deep state' is one thing, but the almost total dismantling of our government's agencies to the detriment of their running efficiently is pure madness. That madness was initially instilled under the guidance of Steve Bannon, only to be carried out to even a greater extent by Stephen Miller.

When liberals turn a government agency into a weapon like the FBI or the NSA to use against the people that is what I call the Deep State. Obama was an expert at it. Pretty simple.

It is alright though if liberals are targeted---right?

Many members of Obama's State Department were diametrically opposed to President Trump's

changes in their failed policies. Those with any integrity simply resigned,

many others remained at their posts to do everything within their considerable power

to actively oppose and obstruct the policies of President Trump.

It's my hypothesis that the reason for the loyalty of the Trump base to the President is because he is delivering on one of the great goals of conservatives. Trump is destroying the power of the federal agencies. The State Department is only one of many executive branch agencies that are being hollowed out. The EPA, IRS, and other agencies have suffered the same fate. Conservatives see it as draining the swamp.

I see it differently. What we are witnessing is the dismantling of the executive branch brakes on the powers of the office of the presidency. All policy, from law enforcement to environmental protection , will stem from the White House and will depend on the President's ideology (can't think of a more subtle phrase). One of the functions of the now hollowed out bureaucracies was to provide ballast to the ship of state. That ballast is being removed and it's now possible that policy can whipsaw depending on the President's philosophy.

In that case, the only institution that will be able to reign in the Executive will be Congress. Could be that every President will face impeachment at some point during their term.

Buckle up...

They all went to work in the White House? Huh, go figure.

That makes no sense.

Trump's biggest mistake was not ridding the WH and the rest of the existing admin immediately upon taking office. He tried to be nice, thinking they were honest individuals since they were part of gov and the WH. Trump was a bit naive. No longer.

Totally disagree. The IRS and EPA should have zero power over our government. But one thing you say is true, the dems have set a new precedent; impeachment as a political tool. It may well come back to haunt them along with their willingness to create fiction against political opponents from decades into their pasts.

It's not alright if ANYONE in particular is targeted. Just want them to do the job they were hired for. Impartially. Blind justice and all....
