I would not call ending a pointless war "messed up". If we would keep our politically correct noses out of things that don't concern us, maybe those who consider the situation a problem would solve it once and for all.

They have nowhere to run to but Iraq, we do want to prevent that.

Not true PR. The Kurds were playing both sides. They had a chance at a state and blew it. They were also protecting our CIA's black ops sights in the middle east. The middle east is nothing but tribalism and we can't stop them from killing one another. So we step back and let them. No use wasting one more US military person's life. I know of the ones going to SA. Hope the new ones are deploying to protect our nukes at Incirlik, TU. I guarded those weapons for 15 months. I sure don't want Erdogan getting them or anyone else. I hope Trump removed them as soon as he got into office. Erdogan surrounded the Lick once already during his power grab.
