I was reading a novel this morning and came across a paragraph that inspired me to write this posting. Executive Orders was written by Tom Clancy, published in 1996 and dedicated to Ronald Reagan our 40th President. The book followed the path of John Patrick Ryan, who had recently assumed the presidency due to a major disaster'
The wording of that paragraph made me think of the numerous times, in the past two and a half years of the Trump administration, where federal judges have attempted to derail the President's lawful decisions. These judges have, evidently, decided that they are the executive branch of the federal government and not the judicial branch. Such actions are contrary to the Constitution of the United States. Judges, at any level of the justice system, are sworn to uphold the laws, as written, until the Congress has changed them.
We are seeing the same misuse of power in the Congress itself as many elected Representatives and Senators in the Democratic Party has spent the same amount of time doing nothing but spend millions of taxpayer dollars in an attempt to convince the public that President Trump is unfit for office. These politicians all took an oath when taking office where they swore, or affirmed, that they would support the Constitution of the United States.
Every individual, man or woman, who holds a position of power where that power is derived by either election or appointment should be required to not only take that oath but be stripped of office when they fail to do so. Yet, every day we read or hear about another city mayor, city council member, city police chief, county commissioner, State Representative or Senator who, for whatever reason, has decided that current law doesn't fit into their belief system.
I firmly believe that any elected or appointed official who refuses to support the laws of our nation should be charged with the proper offense, arrested, tried, and if found to be guilty, punished to the full extent of the law that they violated.

I fully agree with the general direction you propose. I had to pause when you said "by election or appointment" wondering if there are other categories. Perhaps you can make "appointment" cover everyone in a position to exercise any power whatsoever over the citizenry. Bureaucracy has many little kings and queens that love to exercise their limited and local but frustrating powers, often to excess.

Hi Manning!~.. My opinion, though it may not mean much, is that elected & appointed, should fall under the same oath...If it doesn't, is a pure miscarriage of justice.. those appointed, some of which are life time appointments, should be under perhaps MORE Scrutiny, than those elected...Especially if they are indeed Lifetime appointments, which For the record I dont' think should exist... NO such thing as Life time appointments, especially in areas of dereliction of duty.. or gross miscarriage of justice..at which time, they should be FIRED!!... There should Never ever in this country be a postion that puts the appointed OR Elected above those that pay their salary!!.. That my friend would be We The People!!!...

The government consists of elected officers, appointed officers, and employees. Let's not dump them all into a basket of deplorables.

You need to be specific here because what is viewed as lawful by conservatives may not be viewed as such by others and vise versa of course.

Trump and his cronies are defying a Congress that was lawfully elected and upholding their duty to follow the rule of law. So based on your argument Trump should be impeached because of Obstruction of Congress. Again, you need to be careful how you state things else based on your argument you give reason for the impeachment of the Pumpkin Fuhrer...

And on that, I agree with you 100% and the sooner we get rid of that lawbreaker in the Oval Office the better...

You made a good argument for Trump's Impeachment.
Good Job, I agree with you.

Oh, please!
"Obstruction of Congress"?? "A Congress that was lawfully elected" is attempting to unseat a lawfully elected president, and for what reason??? "Upholding their duty to follow the rule of law?? Their duty is to abide by the Constitution under the authority it grants them, they swore the oath to do so. What laws are they following??
Better questions: What laws are they violating? Are they betraying their oath? Who or what are
they defying?? The answers are staring us in the face.
The left says that walls don't work, in your case they do. You are hidden behind a high wall of extreme prejudice, even hate, and without an objective point of view, you cannot see this from the other direction.
This entire "impeachment" debacle is based on one phone call. We have the full transcript of that call. And since the call reveals no wrong doing or criminal conspiracy, the fops leading the committees and the pasty faced speaker herself had to regroup and manufacture a case.
Schiff is the primary mover of this skullduggery. He orchestrated a covert plan that involves a fraudulent complaint by a mysterious whistle blower. Schiff lied when he took his plan to the House floor. So, now this "impeachment" fiasco revolves around the complaint from an anonymous source, one that remains hidden and unknown. Issuing subpoenas based on a manufactured story and keeping the prime witness hidden is an egregious breach of congressional ethics and it is a violation of the rule of law.
President Trump, his attorneys, all those named in the HOR subpoenas, the AG and the American people have the right to know who this phantom is. President Trump has the right to confront his accuser and question him (or her).
Congress (the Legislative) is an equal branch of our government. Congress is not superior to the other two branches.
A committee chairman and his cronies on his committee are attempting to overturn the decisions of 63 million Americans and in so doing are going to decide the future of our entire nation. Is this what you call "upholding their duty to follow the rule of law" as lawfully elected representatives of the People?
