Think about the American special forces on the ground in Syria who have fought side by side with our closest allies in that part of the world, the Kurds, diminishing ISIL and keeping the Russians and the murderous Syrian dictator in check. Two days ago as Trump sucked up to the Dictator in Turkey and against the sound advice of his own staff and that of both houses of congress betrayed the Kurds and abandoned many of them to face violent deaths. Our service members were forced with a days notice to abandon their brothers in arms to a slaughter. This is one of the most shameful acts in our modern history.

It is revealing that whenever a Republican is POTUS, the American left has been the most vociferous, often violent, anti-war protestors in the country, they rant and rage about unjust wars, phony wars, illegitimate wars, baby killing wars, and they scream for an end. You wailed and cried over the deaths of our troops and all the innocent victims. "Pull our troops out of there, bring them home, no more dead Americans, no more dead kids."
Now, the left has turned a complete flip-flop, a screeching 180. Trump is a monster for pulling troops out.
Yet, the left had nothing but high praise for Obama when he pulled our troops out of Iraq. Look how that turned out. That decision is partially, if not significantly, responsible for the situation we now see in Syria and the ME in general. When our troops withdrew from Iraq, the ISIS insurgency moved in to fill the vacuum. Moreover, Obama failed to enforce his "red line" in Syria which further exacerbated the problem. Then began the Syrian civil war.
Obama’s ‘Red Line’ Debacle From the InsideI am just one man, I cannot possibly understand what is behind Trump's decision, what prompted him to do this, nor do I have a handle on the geopolitics in the ME, it is in a constant state of flux, it seems to change from day to day, but from all I can gather, it is entirely possible Trump's decision was intended to avoid a major military conflict with Turkey - and every other country in the region that is involved.
Maybe this will help:
The War for Post-U.S. Syria Has Begun The former alliance between Russia, Iran and Turkey is fracturing and this breakup extends to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
I would think the leftist bleeding hearts would be quite pleased that Trump decided to disengage from that conflict.
