Limited warfare is a fools errand, limited wars can never be won.

So, what do we do? How in hell do we demand unconditional surrender and total disarmament by sitting on our ass and watching the ME explode into a major war? I don't think you see the big picture. If the escalating strife in that region of the world isn't stopped cold soon, if we wait and watch, we are going to face a monumental problem in the future.

Indeed, that was one of my concerns today. I was bravely thinking earlier of sending the president a message that abandoning the Kurds is not a good idea. Since the Iraq war, the Kurds have been instrumental in assisting the US put down Sadam Hussien. Fact was the Christians in Iraq at that time being persecuted were fleeing to the Kurdish territory. It was the only safe haven for them cause the Muslims have been slaughtering the Christians. Christians in Iraq are the oldest in the world history, the Chaldean, Arameans, and Arab Christians. Now only few hundreds of them are left.

During the ISIS war, the Kurds were instrumental in helping the US forces fight and defeat the ISIS. The Kurds are the milder version of the Muslims, and could ally with the Western civilization. I think US must keep the Kurds as an ally.

Trump doesn't have any allies except for Israel and now possibly Britain. Poland is an ally, but the old order is gone.

We are not the world police force. There are many allies of Syria. Why don’t they step in to defend them. I wouldn’t want my son or daughter in peril in a battle that no one else cares about. They have been fighting in the Middle East for years. What is the UN doing. We give millions to them. They prove they are useless. We don’t belong in any country yesterday does not threaten us. If they do, it is a different situation. Then, go in with everything we have to eliminate them. Nukes, if necessary. The only people who benefit from us going in are the arms manufacturers. They can still make money if other people want to fight.

Trump has many fake allies that would like to see him out. He can trust few of them, they are part of the deep state .

I was watching in horror and alarm as Turkey has mounted air attacks on the Kurds. What do YOU think Trump/America should do right now? They've been faithful allies for many years. My gut feeling is not to abandon them now? But how much aid and how many soldiers do we send?

That is how we end up in all wars. Where are the rest of the Kurd allies? I see no one else like England, France, agermsny or any other European country offering help.

I am not absolutely sure, but I tend to agree with you. We were in Syria to help rid the country of Isis. When it was reported that Isis had been eradicated, it would have been time to pull out. But was Isis really eradicated from Syria? The people of Syria may still need our protection. Whenever we had been involved in wartime activities, it has always been our policy to help the defeated countries with restoration and rebuilding. We did that for Japan and for countries in Europe after WWII. I am not certain, but I think we did the same thing for Vietnam. Perhaps the President could re-think this action. If only we had a bi-partisan Congress that we could trust to handle this issue with him, it might help... but we don't have such a Congress as we all well know.

I am not absolutely sure, but I tend to agree with... (show quote)

What country is helping us build our infrastructure which is certainly need of much upkeep? The friggin democrats won’t even help. All they concentrate on is getting in powere by trying to get rid of a president who wants to build the country up. There are other countries in this world who could help Syria. Where are they. Sitting back with their hands out for American aid. Most of the countries that we aid vote against us in th UN. Bullshit. I think it is time to pull back and take care of our own. And I don’t mean only those on welfare.

They are Christians and are outnumbered by the Turkish Muslims. This will be a bloodbath just like when the Turks pulled off the Armenian Holocaust. Trump has made a bad decision. Plenty of other places we could have gone to remove our troops. I am totally opposed to this decision!

Would you rather the soldiers were left to die?

Syria isn't doing anything for us and the Kurds had nothing to trade Trump, unlike Turkey.
