Woody, that seems to me to be a very naive comment. Whoever made that statement seems to forget that Trump was ELECTED President and he is the Executive in charge. Congress is also elected. They are the legislative branch. SCOTUS is the judicial branch. Those deep state, unelected career officials, who have become predominantly liberal, do not have the right to do anything that would undermine the duly elected POTUS. You don't seem to realize that. Therein lies the problem. They in fact have been doing what they can to overturn the election. Please set aside your Democrat allegiance for a minute and think past Hillary's loss and understand that these deep state people, however devoted they are to their careers, are not supposed to make policy decisions for our Government -Period! If you guys don't like Trump's decisions, wait until Nov of 2020 and then you will find that there is a solution to your problem that has been established by our Constitution. This has been built in to take care of the problem of which you speak.

There is a deep state, and it is comprised of career officials who serve for whole careers, working at the same job regardless of who is president. Career officials will see both political parties sitting in the white house and it makes no difference to them whether it's a democrat or a republican, it's all the same job to them. It doesn't matter whether they like a president or despise them, their jobs are going to be the same.

These people's service is oriented toward representing the country, and when they see an administration gutting the foundations of the agencies they work for they are going to act out as patriots that serve the rule of law. Only a president who demands a loyalty to himself before the country and law is going to have a problem with the accountability that will come from career officials.

When Trump took office she got information from very concerned intelligence services that Trump had a serious problem with his top adviser Flynn, telling him that Flynn seemed to be hopelessly compromised with Russia and other bad entities. Of course it didn't help that they had reason to be worried about Trump as well. This deep state of employees that were aware of these security breaches would be dozens to hundreds of people who know one thing or another that is troubling. Replacing heads such as Attorney General like Barr puts a loyalist in at the top who will make reports of wrongdoing go away, but the fact remains that there are going to be hundreds of people who are aware of things going on that are wrong. Sooner or later people are going to leak stories about incidents that can be proved by simply looking at documentation that proves it...which by the way is why we have intelligence services who are tasked by the constitution to act in an oversight role.

We are seeing the end result of a deep state that sees an administration that is out of control, one that is focused at getting rid of good people so that there are no abilities to stop abuses.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. The 'deep state' the rest of us have been talking about obviously represents a collective group of POS's..and they have become embedded (mainly through various appointments by our elected representatives) throughout all our govt agencies-every agency and/or regulatory body. These "good career officials" as you describe them..WHICH THEY'RE NOT..were also obviously not put in their positions for their expertise in their official job duties either. Only a fool doesn't understand and now realize their real purpose. They ARE expected to instinctively run cover..AS NEEDED..primarily for their partisan and power hungry cronies, but ultimately for the all encompassing swamp by extension. They also AREN'T 'going to start lining up 'to share what they've seen or know' either..b/c they are POS's and COWARDS..with plenty of intentional and arrogant lapses of job duty (which they certainly don't want to take credit for)..most of which-if the truth is ever known-will guarantee them a place right alongside those they've run cover for.

The deep state consists of a coalition of bottom feeders from government agencies and congress that get much of their funds by rushing to countries receiving foreign aid and contrive to get kickbacks from it by threats of interference. Follow the money. Many in congress are worth millions they didn't earn in the private sector.
