It would seem the transcript doesn't contain some of what the whistle blower claimed it did.

Does this guy get whistle blower protections if he doesn't have first hand knowledge?? I mean, hey, I heard a guy at Walmart say the owners are bribing liberal congressmen to pass laws favorable to Walmart business in foreign lands.

First of all it is not a transcript, it is a memo of recollections, and they tend to be done with different levels of detail, often briefly summarizing.

As far as second hand goes, the IC IG does a credibility investigation, looking at memos and talking to people with knowledge and decides whether it has a credibility. Once credibility is established, and in this case the conversation memos have been turned over as well as the whistle blower complaint and IC IG and DNI reports, there is no relevance to whether it was first second or third hand knowledge, facts are being established, and Trump and Giuliani have been speaking publicly which becomes part of the record.

This report and situation is not about one phone conversation, it is about military aid to an ally being withheld by Trump, there's more here than one conversation.
