WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump honored thousands that died as a result of the Sept. 11 terror attacks during remarks at the Pentagon Wednesday.
But the president also didn't miss a chance to again claim he helped in the aftermath of the terror attacks at ground zero.
"I was looking out of a window from a building at Midtown Manhattan directly at the World Trade Center when I saw a second plane at a tremendous speed go into the second tower. It was then that I realized the world was going to change. I was no longer going to be, and it could never, ever be that innocent place that I thought it was," Trump said.
"Soon after, I went down to Ground Zero with men who worked for me to try to help in any little way that we could," he continued. "We were not alone. So many others were scattered around trying to do the same. They were all trying to help."

Evidence seems to show he was never there yet let's take it he was, everyday, clawing with his bare hands at the rubble, fingers bleeding, weeping and desperate to save these victims, ruining ten or twenty thousand dollars suits. That does not excuse this terrible fact about the POTUS. It was indecent to do so. It was petty and base to do so. It is amoral to do so. (Though as usual the other tactic is to make what he has said and done was a ridiculously non-burger.)
Refusing to recognize the president of America is an embarrassment, a disgrace to the image of our country, to act that way, by challenging me instead. What he did for the umpteenth and on other numerous occasions is clear to most sane and honest people but what it seems many of you refuse to see. If I tried to defend myself, I would be the same as Trump. But, hey, swing away, keep that blind eye. Or not respond, you other popular tactic with undeniable truth.
Try to imagine our great, and real, First Responders bragging about what they did at the World Trade Center. No, all these men grieved that they could not do enough and be silent. Compare Trump to them who instead was bragging about how his Tower was now the tallest in lower Manhattan (a lie, of course, besides being sickeningly pathological narcissism), and let his prejudice reign once again over any sense of moral authority and proclaimed thousand and thousands of Muslims celebrated in NJ. His words:
Pants on Fire!

Fact-checking Trump's claim that thousands in New Jersey cheered when World Trade Center tumbled

Arguing that there are terrorist sympathizers in the United States, Donald Trump says he saw "thousands" of New Jerseyans celebrating after the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
"I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down," the Republican presidential candidate said at a Nov. 21 rally in Birmingham, Ala. "And I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering."
