It has been important to pass. But with a dem house, NOTHING will get passed that President Trump initiates. And damn the American people, as far as the dems are concerned

Mexico should pay tariffs. They’re making enough money off us through the legal and illegals working here sending money back home. And they get free everything from us to enable them to do that.

Need to give Mexico credit with the help at the Border...
Yes. They have made a big step in the right direction.

Moscow Mitch is the one holding up Congress he is sitting on over 200 bipartisan bills that he refuses to bring to the floor. He will not even let Republicans in the Senate create bills and send them to the house and you do realize that this new deal is the same deal we had before Trump tore it up didn't negotiate anything

NAFTA gave all the benefits to other NA countries and was detrimental to US workers. Basically left companies free to manufacture goods in Mexico at lower costs to sell the goods to Americans at full price. Who does that benefit? Mexico got jobs, corporations made bigger profits and Americans got squat. President Trump actually considers the American people when making deals.....

And there are a lot more negatives which effect smaller numbers of people. For example, if you owned a patent, NAFTA allowed Americans to violate it if done south of the border. Another issue was trucking. American semis have to meet certain standards and have to be inspected if they cross the border. Mexican owned trucks were exempt from border inspection and only had to meet Mexican standards. So many truckers who had been making a living by transportation across the border, lost their bids for the jobs because it was cheaper to hire Mexican truckers.
Ranchers were also affected by American ranchers having to meet higher standards than Mexican ranchers. This also means under NAFTA, our food safety was potentially affected. Meats coming from Mexico before NAFTA had to pass USDA standards. Under NAFTA, Mexican imported meats were exempt from USDA standards including having contamination by either disease, antibiotics, hormones, or other chemicals. So both our ranchers and food consumers were hurt by NAFTA.
I'm sure there are many more who were negatively affected by NAFTA.
