"Crime has nothing to do with the tool that it is committed with but by the hearts of the people that commit it.
A quick look at U.S. News’ list and each state’s concealed carry laws demonstrates this perfectly.
Maine has permissive gun laws and ranks first on the list of low violent crime rate; Vermont and Idaho also have unrestricted concealed carry laws and are second and fifth on the list, respectively. Other states, such as Alaska and Arkansas, have similar gun laws but fall near the bottom of the list.
Mississippi, North Dakota and Montana are some permissive gun law states that rank in the middle.
On the other hand, there are restrictive states all over the list as well. New Jersey is U.S. News’ fourth safest state despite having some of the toughest gun laws in the nation. Hawaii and Maryland are near the middle, while Washington comes in at the back half.
What does this mean? It means that crime is a people problem, not a gun problem. Despite tough laws, criminals can still obtain guns, and allowing citizens to protect themselves does not make our communities any more dangerous.
All across the country, there are people with little intent to follow the law, and changing the laws around them does not make them more inclined to do so."

Of course his answer is dumb. Sadly this is how irrational zealots operate. They keep repeating themselves in the hopes that others will agree.
Good article. Guns aren’t the problem.
PeterS wrote:
WHY, WHY, WHY!!!
Because you do not even know the definition of a semi-automatic weapon. Secondly, those bent on evil do not obey gun laws.

Careful what you say about PeterS. He is very sensitive and will go whining to administration and try to have your post deleted or you banned.

Politicians from both parties ( and the NRA of course ) love the gun control topic. It gets people cranked up, their wallets loosened..........................and distracts from more serious issues.

It would be more effective to ban Democrats then guns, most mass shootings are done by your clan.

There is nothing more serious than the Constitution. And your Commie clan is hell-bent on destroying it.
PeterS wrote:
WHY, WHY, WHY!!!
Because we already 20,000 gun laws on the books, which we do not enforce.
Making it 20,001 gun laws on the books, which we will not enforce, changes nothing.

Who are you talking to? Oh, I get it, you were looking in a mirror. If I were you, I'd keep my delusions on the downlow.

Ever hear of ex post facto law? Of course not, that would require you actually reading the Constitution, or more likely, having someone read it to you and explain the big words.

Your babble "Politicians from both parties ( and the NRA of course ) love the gun control topic. It gets people cranked up, their wallets loosened..........................and distracts from more serious issues."
Gun control is not the problem, the problem is people with mental issues. But no one wants to address that.

I've never understood the problem with semi-automatics. It isn't the gun that kills people, it's the finger on the trigger and usually that's a handgun. Learn to not worry about new laws that won't be followed anway (the old ones aren't by criminals).
