There are some forces on The Right who embrace authoritarianism. Ironically those forces are influenced by The Left: they are called neoconservatives.
Freedom is important to most of those on The Right just as Equality is important to those on The Left.
But Revolution is important to most on The Left just as Tradition is important to those on The Right.
Since The Left continues to push economic revolution, political revolution (banning the electoral college - really?), demographic revolution, sexual revolution, while simultaneously restricting the freedoms of The Right from academia to the Internet (deplatforming) to the physical safety of The Right (trying wearing a red MAGA hat in public - I dare you) why would you be surprised the forces of The Right continue to be RADICALIZED.
The Left continues calling young white males privileged and toxic and then act surprised when there's a backlash.
The pendulum eventually swings back. It always does.

If it were really about Republicans and Democrats you would be right...and ordinarily that would be the case.
But the dichotomy is about elitism vs the rest of us. We are fighting a globalist two caste system.

Oh please, beginning in the '80s we've had fake news. It wasn't as bad as today. Around Carter's administration started the dumbing down of America. Were you affected? Doubtful.
