Truth is so important.

An Obituary printed in the London Times.....Absolutely Dead Brilliant !!!!

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- And maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death,
-by his parents, Truth and Trust,
-by his wife, Discretion,
-by his daughter, Responsibility,
-and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers;
- I Know My Rights
- I Want It Now
- Someone Else Is To Blame
- I'm A Victim
- Pay me for Doing Nothing

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

How true it is and how sad at what we have become. It wasn't so much as removing God from the schools it was also what God brought to the table. God brought the ten commandments not the ten suggestions and when properly taught whether you are a Christian or an atheist you would learn how to act in society by following these laws. We got rid if the birch stick or belt and replaced it with Dr. Spock who said we were to reason with our children obviously he never had children or at least not mine, at two years old there is no reason.

Boy, did the London Times cover it, or what ? Very profound article, even with tongue in cheek. It happened little by little, so we let it die. How sad.

Little by little is how we have been reduced as a society to the current fascism.

Wow Aunti! That was a kick in the gut. It is so true, and so sad.
That is one good friend who will be sorely missed. We must double efforts to keep the memory alive!

I do agree the truth of this matter is sad. It my personal belief it may take more then doubling our efforts. We may have to quadruple our efforts. :idea:

Does anyone notice that common sense is also what God gave us, the more we pushed Him out of our lives the more the blessings in life have died. But then God warned us in the letter He wrote us, do it MY way and receive my blessings, go against me and you will get My cursings

This death announcement may be a little premature. Maybe we should say common sense is on life support. There are still many people using common sense in everyday life. These are regular law abiding citizens willing to do the right things raising their children properly and obeying God's laws. You can find these people at work, at the malls, doing yard work, and especially at church. While you don't have to go to church to have strong moral values, it does help.
As long as we have people with common sense living their lives properly, common sense has a chance. However, common sense is lost upon the ruling elite. It will take a major effort by those having common sense to re-educate those in and out of government to use this trustworthy trait correctly!

Actually Dr. Spock did have children and there were rumors that one of them committed suicide, which wasn't true.

All that I know is my wife bought the book and then I used the book a couple of times on their little rear ends and imparted a whole lot of knowledge into their little minds about right and wrong but that was the only good use of the book that I could find.
