María Elena by Jimmy Dorsey and His Orchestra – I knew I remembered that song from somewhere.
Gives ya the movie also. Mine is "Caught in the Draft" with Bob Hope, Dorothy Lamour. They have the full length movie. Never see it before, so in the middle of watching it now.

I hadn't heard of that song or the Walker Brothers, so I looked it up. Pretty good song. I loved it. I also learned it was never a #1 hit in the US – #1 in UK ('66), but max was #13 in US. That website said they would tell you the number one song (I assumed the US). Anyway, maybe that's why I hadn't heard of them – plus I was single, in the Navy and probably drunk all that year and didn't care. But again I enjoyed the song. (Quit drinking and smoking 'bout 20 years now.) Thank you, Highlander66.
