__ World News for Wed 21 Aug has been posted.
__ A long time ago, in WWII, there was a point when the German army rolled into Denmark on its way to Norway. The SS and other occupiers ordered the Danes to surrender their Jewish occupants to the Germans and to obey the Nazi commands.
What they did instead as a small, courageous, honorable country, was to turn out with everybody wearing the yellow star of David that was supposed to separate and identify the Jews from everyone else. Then the Danes found a way to help those few Jews in the nation to escape, I think it was to Sweden as a neutral nation.
__ I'm not sure why Trump is putting the nails to the Danes while ignoring North Korea's efforts to launch a new type of missile from their territory.
I'm not sure why the American President is kissing North Korean posterior, while treating a good friend in Denmark with the rudest of insults.
I've defended Trump on many occasions because I agreed with many of his stated policies on trade, energy and other issues, but this rudeness to an old and valued friend like Denmark leaves me somewhat stunned.
If the trip for a President of the U.S. to Denmark has been planned for awhile, as I would assume it had, I'm sure there are many Danes who have worked hard to present a welcome to him.
Many of these things are not supposed to be personal, they're supposed to be national government business. You keep allies by keeping your appointments and commitments, and by respecting their efforts to honor you with a welcome.
President Trump needs to apologize to the Danish PM on behalf of the American people and take Air Force One there immediately.

During the all call, Goldfein covered topics such as multi-domain operations, joint leaders and teams, and the importance of squadrons in the Air Force. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Hey, Denmark sold us the Virgin Islands so they are amenable to selling off their properties. Any good real estate man would be remiss in not looking into Greenland. Especially since we have our north-most early warning base there.
As for Mexico paying for it... I doubt that. The wall has already cost them too much.
