NRA members, what do you think about recent revelations concerning where your dues go ? Is it OK with you that NRA's president spends huge amounts on clothing, his wife's hairdressers, luxury hotels, and travel expenses, and that this money comes out of membership dues? The NRS is a corrupt organization. I am wondering what we're going to learn about NRA-Russia connections. We will see what we will see.

Just because it is the NRA, why should it be any different than any other organization that has lax corporate governance? If NRA members are willing to tolerate this type of behavior, then so be it. Let another more responsive organization spring up that will better reflect the values of it's members. I for one am no longer part of this organization.

There are actually repercussions for misusing non profit funds, but mainly the ignorance displayed by people who don't care how an organization uses it's donations is appalling.

If their is a bunch of crap behind in the leadership, it needs to be cleared up and cleaned up. NOW. But I'm still behind the NRA for being in the forefront in fighting to protect our 2nd Amendment rights. As should all real Americans.

I am with you! The fact that the head of the NRA is willing to embezzle funds for himself and his family is just ridiculous. They will never get another cent from me.

There are 80 million of us out here who keep and bear arms, 5.5 million are members of NRA, I'm not one of them.

The NRA/Russia connection was pretty simple. The leader of a pro-gun movement in Russia got in touch with leaders of the NRA to get some ideas on how to progress.

Let me see if I understand you. No one can be a “real American “ if they don’t support YOUR INTERPRETATION of 2nd Amendment rights.

As usual, you misrepresent what the NRA/Russia connection was.

I am glad to see that someone else was disturbed by how this tax-exemp, supposedly charitable organization was illegally using members dues.

Where is the link that shows the abuses that NRA leadership is perpetuating?

I was an NRA member some time ago. I never liked Wayne LaPierre. But, I am not given to knee jerk reactions. So, let's not blame the NRA as an organization, let's focus on the problem. OK?

In a letter dated April 18 and co-signed by North and the NRA’s first vice president, Richard Childress, they expressed serious concern about “the extraordinary legal fees the NRA has incurred” since bringing on lawyer William A. Brewer as outside counsel. The letter, addressed to the chairman of the NRA audit committee and the NRA’s secretary and general counsel, put the legal bill at about “$24 million over a 13-month period.”

On April 25, as the gun group was set to gather for its annual convention in Indianapolis, LaPierre alleged that North had tried to pressure him to resign by threatening to release details of financial impropriety. The next day, North was ousted as president at that convention, which concluded with LaPierre being re-elected as executive vice president.

LaPierre needs to go, resign or get kicked out, whatever.

Well, get out your paints, your brush and your easel, bub, and paint the rest of the picture. I suspect it will be a hell of an example of post-modern art.

You forgot to mention that using the funds of a non-profit corporation to pay for personal expenses, such as bringing one’s wife’s makeup and haircare specialists on trips to Europe and paying for all their lodging and other expenses when this has nothing to do with the stated purposes of the non-profit corporation is illegal.

I guess you have not delved into what these people were doing with the money they collected as dues from the members.

Duhhhhhh, BladeRunner
