It is important to remember that during the late 19th century when we had enormous immigration, it was still tightly controlled. Immigrants sailed past the Statue of Liberty to Ellis Island and were processed in an orderly way. If they had infectious diseases, criminal records, were anarchists – or even showed signs of low morals – they were denied entry and sent back to their home countries.

The modern left-wing idea of opening the borders as wide as possible would have been thoroughly rejected in any previous era.

The people who are coming to our borders determined to begin their lives in America by breaking the law are being encouraged by Ocasio-Cortez and her hard-left allies.

The Democrats have refused to control the border. They have refused to amend the amnesty provision in our immigration law (which is the loophole used by most sophisticated people seeking illegal entry). They have also refused to provide legislative solutions for various left-wing judicial decisions that have crippled our enforcement capabilities. So, the word is out that it is a good time to sneak into the United States.

Now the Democrats are going a step further and talking about providing free health care for people who come here illegally. When word spreads that sick people can sneak into America and get free medical treatment from American doctors and nurses, the flood of sick immigrants will double and triple from the current numbers.

Since George Soros is funding all the advertising in Central America to entice people to come here, we should take his billions to pay for all the free stuff.

Not 750 miles of fence. Much of that were vehicle barriers which pedestrians can walk right through. Fencing was a short way to each side of a port of entry, and along the Rio Grande in south TX which fiasco is still being settled in courts.

GWBush increased CBP from 12,000 to nearly 19,000. Obama increased another 3,000 but also terminated hundreds for disciplinary reasons. Any CBP agent discharging their firearm, even to return fire, risked disciplinary action or termination, or even prison such as Ramos and Compean. If you believe the case against them, they fired ammo from about 3 dozen different weapons at a fleeing drug smuggler who they can't prove shot at them. All these weapons were identified by scouring the desert along the Rio Grande where the armed smuggler escaped. {No other weapon had apparently EVER been fired in that narrow stretch of the river!}

Obama hired 76 immigration judges, NOT 1500!!!! Trump has hired 198. And more are in training, which unfortunately is not a speedy process.

Obama stripped e-verify from his stimulus package and budget in 2009. The next year, a bill to make the voluntary e-verify mandatory was introduced by a Republican. Representative Lamar Smith. In fact when my state initiated a mandatory e-verfy state law, Obama himself challenged it! He ordered the DOJ to bring a lawsuit against AZ and asked SCOTUS to strike the law down. It was one of two times Obama sued the state of AZ.

I don't know whether or not Trump was aware of illegals working in the resorts his Trump enterprises owned. But from the small numbers, it certainly wasn't an intentional policy to hire illegals. In any case, he is now addressing the situation and has asked e-verify to be used from now on. Yes it is a black spot on Trump!

But if you mean the $1 billion virtual fence which covered 35 miles in AZ and could never be made to work; go ahead and crow about it.
