On Thursday this will be over and either the balloon flies or is just background noise for the media and people like yourself to focus on. What will come of this is a big boost for stores, hotels, boat rentals, vendors selling everything from hot dogs to tee shirts. This event, especially when the President participates, is good for Washington DC.
Many people will attend this year, the military and their families will be a very large presence because of the theme.... saluting our military. It is not often that their contributions are recognized in such a large way. It will boost morale and who would deny that the past 35 years it has been one conflict after another with many dying in battle, a boost in morale is needed and will be welcomed. Aside from the active duty, our veterans will be in attendance to support this long overdue effort by a sitting President. And for the average US citizen, they will see first hand our military.
This will also be televised, although not completely covered, in nations around the world. It could give nations pause when they consider military actions against the US. So, this may cost a million, but the rewards will be significant. Money earned by stores, the Park Service fees, vendor sales.... all will help shore up the economy of DC, and immediate states such as Maryland and Virginia. A clear message to Iran and North Korea that the USA has the support, equipment, and US citizens who support our government.
I just hope the media focus on the cheer, the joy, the amazement of the day instead of vagina hats worn by emasculated men and she-men! Along with a deflated and tired old balloon that some have drug around the world to shame our nation, our republic, and the President of a nation.
Indeed, viewing 4 parked tanks is certain to strike fear into the hearts of this country's enemies. Thanks to taterhead and his ridiculous attempts at foreign policy, the list of potential enemies grows every day that taterhead tweets or tells his lies on fox or rightwingnut media outets

I am assuming that you are replying to my comment, even if you intended your comment to another I am curious..... did you expect all our military equipment to be on display at this celebration? My niece who is 5 proposed the same concern, so do not feel ashamed that you actually wrote that remark. I called my last unit and asked if she could visit the base and see how much equipment just one unit has at their disposal and I asked if this could happen on a Commander's Call date so she could see just how many fine men and women are employed in just one unit to keep our nation safer. After the visit, I asked my niece to imagine the same experience multiplied by the 38 named bases in the USA (excluding overseas), needless to say she understood why only a representative of our forces will be on display during the 4th of July celebration.
In regard to the rest of your comment, those are your opinions that may or may not reflect reality.
Now then, when you are replying to an individual.... use the quote reply button.
