Florida (and many other states) have had “School-to-Work” programs for decades.
Must say, Florida was a leader. I attended a week-long seminar, regarding such a program, where a central Florida power company was mentoring high school students.
In Kansas, vocational schools (high school level) have had “on the job” training since the 1950’s. Many other states have strong vocational systems too.
That said, it’s a pretty good idea to know something about “citizenship”; which it appears, many in the House of Representatives, know very little!
I heard about that and the Dems freaked out about how ridiculous that was. Well you and I know if they learn about our country they can't turn them into little brown shirts that march to communism I think its great idea. teachers are trying to make our history disappear Its sad foreigners know more about our country then we do
Yes, good idea. How about passing us history and the constitution test?

Yeah, when I was in high school in the mid 60s Illinois bell had a program that senior year you could go to school a half day and work at ma bell a half day.
When we were in school we used to have to pass a test on the Mo. constitution to graduate the 8th grade. Then to graduate high school we had to pass the test on the US Constitution.

HI debeda how have things been going for you? I really enjoy your insight when erasing your posts!!!!! Smart Lady you are for sure. As a matter of fact it about darn time to do exactly what you just recommended!!!! It way past time for all of these Progressive Left so called educators to lose their positions regardless if they have tenure or not! They have damaged a complete generation of kids by (INDOCTRINATING) them with their own ideological sickness and quite frankly I'm sick and tired of it! So yes I completely agree with you. Please take good care Ma'am !

Hi, Mike, I always enjoy your posts also!! Always common sense and to the point
I hope all is well with you, too!🌞
It's so hard to believe "educators" have stopped teaching core classes, and instead pushing stuff like "diversity training" and classes on other cultures, while downplaying and often denigrating our own country. It's a bit nihilistic, ya know? One thing every one of us can do is to attend school board meetings to find out WTH is going on in the schools. Even if you don't have children in school your tax dollars still support them!

Agreed! Today’s public schools are more like leftist indoctrination centers, or as my favorite radio talk show host calls them, ‘screwels’.
