I've never called my mother a Libturd (or anyone else for that matter..) but we have certainly had our disagreements...

And there are times when I have had to go for a walk to cool down...

People need to stop fighting one another and start working on solutions...

We are all trying to figure out who to vote for in our next election... Usually I support the Conservative Party...But this time a lot of us are talking about giving our vote to the NDP.. Anything to get the Liberals out

My mother has just informed me this past evening that my Trump 2020 hat is not welcome in her home... I responded by pointing out that I would never wear a hat inside, but out on the deck or at the lake I would wear whatever I like...

In my old office there were two Americans, one of whom was very anti-Trump... She once threw a picture of Trump and Xijinping shaking hands into the trash... It was on my desk... Facing away from her... She had to cross the room and enter my personal space to even see it...

Now I work with an American, black fellow from California... He has called me a racist a number of times simply for wearing a MAGA hat...

Most recently I was kicked off a wechat group for posting pro-Trump memes... They were in response to another member posting anti-Trump memes.... His were vulgar and derogatory (like Kevyn's)... Mine were rather tasteful... But I was verbally attacked by a number of members and then the leader of the circle removed me from it...

Things have really gotten out of control... PC is no longer PC... Just a way to shut up anyone who expresses any sort of view that is considered 'right-sided'..

Wear your hat with pride Larisa... It would look good on you... ... And speak up loud and clear about your President... Lord knows I don't have much to boast about when it comes to Baby Trudeau

And remember that your not alone... Plenty of folk out there who don't dare to let their opinions be known for fear of being labeled as bigot/ racist/ sexist/ homophobe/ islamaphobe/ fascist/ etc... Every time we speak out we encourage others to do the same...

Here what i feel..I feel mad,pissed off....and disgusted..Why??..Good question...When i lived in Communist Russia,you had to be careful what you say, and how you say it..I never ever thought in my life that moving to United States i would feel pretty muc h the same way...You probably asking"What the hell is this girl talking about?"..I tell you..I am sick and tired and pissed off that i cant tell my friends that i have voted for this President...I am sick and tired and pissed off that people who voted for this President get jumped on,spit on, kicked out from public places,their car gets damaged...Im sick and tired and pissed off that i have to be really quiet at the restaurants, or stores when i am talking what positive things this President have done....Im very pissed off that every single thing that goes wrong in here and abroad is all President Trump' fault!!!..And im really sick and tired and pissed off that i cant even wear Trump hat because the area where i live at is very anti-Trump!!!...All this reminds me Communist Soviet Union...I dont know if im the only one that feel the same way, i think im not...In any case i want America back...

You are not alone, PR. It is unfortunate that so many in this country don't understand what they are giving up in order to feel good about themselves.

When Political Correctness first reared its ugly head, I took it as a joke. By the time I realized it was not a joke, it was already well on its way to being accepted as a replacement for our freedom of speech. The only thing I can imagine that will save us is to ignore PC and say what we need to say. We may lose some friends but then, if they leave us for our thoughts, they were never really friends to start with.

As long as you make statements like this you are no better than the folks you rail against.

Let's get real a moment. Being mad, pissed off and disgusted are emotions of which you are in control.
I just don't see the point of letting those with whom I disagree get under my skin and determine how I interact with them.

In my extended family of 50, there are a couple or 4 liberals and the rest are conservatives. Of the 4, one is so angry that he often can't enjoy our get togethers. And my little brother likes to throw out little jabs to see if he can get a reaction. I interpret his behavior as that of a little brother teasing his big 'un. Point being...I don't love my family any the less and enjoy being with them.

I do talk politics with my family....under certain conditions and they usually involve civility, because I'm much more interested in the deeper questions than which party is up or down. My family understands that my liberalism is American at it's core, and when we talk history and politics we don't use terms like racist, communist, etc.

Both sides need to turn down the rhetorical heat. I don't see that happening any time soon, but our own reaction to that heat can be controlled. Now, of course, I expect that someone will respond 'well you did it first' but that doesn't matter.

For my own sanity I refuse to feel mad, pissed off, or disgusted with my American family. Take care.
